Abrams is not a good man.

It was wonderful to see Truth get out into the light.

Abrams did not succeed.

Abrams quickly closed with "I love my parents, but would never want them to have the final say over my spouse."

Ummm .. Michael Shiavo's parents aren't the one fighting for Terri

It's Terri's OWN parents that are

Abrams will be rebroadcast at 1:00 am, unless MSNBC pulls it.

Robert Shuller is a good and kind man.

Thanks for posting that.

You get the feeling that Abrams and like-minded interviewers are just too cool for school. They already have all the answers and so they act impatient with their guests. It's incredibly annoying.

prior to yesterday, my only acquaintance with Rev. schuller was his TV commercials. They seemed hoaky and I figured he was another swaggart like caricature. After seeing him on one of the shows yesterday, and reading this post I have newfound respect for him and less for Abrams.
then again few watch his show.

Was that the entire interview? I would have loved to see that and see more people like Rev Schuller on. Last week Larry King had Joni Earickson on and it was great. We need more of our spiritual leaders out front and center on this.

" He has been with another woman since 1996 with two children ."

I don't think that concept has yet sunken into Larry King's head.
Last week, when a caller slipped by the screeners and asked Schiavo, who was on LKL about his " common law wife " and 2 children- King stopped the caller and asked Michael ( who looked greatly relieved that LK was rescuing him )-" Why, you and Terri are legally married, aren't you, Michael and have been for what, 20 years ?? "

Abrams was diagnosed with testicular cancer 2 years ago and is single, so it looks like his parents ,as much as that thought upsets him, would be his legal guardians.

Well, I have to say that is my spouse left me for another, had two kids with them, then stood to benefit if I died rather than divorced them then I sure as hell wouldn't want them to have a say in if I lived or died. Abrams sounds like a real moron.

How do guys get a show. Oh yeah, he is somewhat good looking I suppose...if you like the young greasy lawyer look...But is intellect is fairly lame, as is his self indulgent dialog.

Bobby Schindler had a good retort to someone who attacked him on this the other day.

He simply said 50% of marriages end in divorce.

The Evangelical church I used to go to made Schuller out like he was the Anti-Christ. A lot of people from this church protested when Schuller came to our campus.

I appears the difference between Terri Legal husband and her parents is Love, that is the reason the parents can connect with her and he can not.

Gentle,

Schuller is right. It should always be a matter of the deepest love. I mean how would King Solomon, in all his wisdom, handle this?

Since Roe v Wade this country has been in serious moral decline. What is happening to Terri and the Schindlers amply reveals how incredibly hollow America and her Constitution have become. You would think a government's most serious responsibility is to protect her people. In America, it appears you would be wrong.

Does Abrams have some kind of resentment against parents? He kind of sounds that way.

We are throwing away our future!" and "This is exactly what is happening!" (and the other good quotes from him)

How I wish Terri's bishop would have said those things. Thank you for the post or I wouldn't have known about it.

It is an inspiration to me that a protestant spiritual leader still thinks this way and is willing to lay it out there. He's from the "we" generation where people stuck by their spouses and cared for them (well I'm sure a lot felt trapped, but they did their duty).

To think that you have to go into "self assertion" mode to have your say on these shows. That's why I don't watch them any more. They use them to manipulate public opinion and entertain. Can't just have a normal dialog. Some good people get face time on the major media and then get slapped down, intimidated, talked over, made to look foolish, antiquary, old-fashioned, etc.

Sometime I'll try to find out just what Terri' bishop did or did not do in all this. Whatever it was, it would have been nice if he could have given her communion at least. Maybe behind the scenes he pled for her life. We can't know.

I was thinking back in the late 60's I had a neighbor who was a widow with a little boy and a "friend" whose wife was in a mental hospital. They spent a lot of time together, and it was no secret he was married. I didn't feel anything against them for what they were doing, but people hadn't started doing much of that yet, and I don't remember hearing any gossip about them apart from the fact that he was married. Just reflecting . . . on attitudes.
