I don't want to be a hotlinker, but no matter which side of this you're on, you'll have to admit that this is the funniest take on this case yet - and it's aimed squarely at us.

Yep and I'm embarrassed everytime I see the protesters outside the hospice. Or, to be more clear about 75% of them embarrass me.
I have been reading Terri Schiavo threads on Free Republic for, literally, years. Can anybody explain how this case apparently slipped under the radar screen and took the GOP by surprise? I suppose, to answer my own question, that it was never fathomable to anybody with any decency that a whole string of judges would sanction the barbaric murder of a citizen.

He was, and can you belkieve I can't for the life of me remember his screen name... He probably hadn't logged on to it since maybe 9months to 1yr. before he died... Lung cancer, went to his bones, then to his brain over about an 18 month span.... it ended up a pretty bad scene.... He was an wonderful man, though!!

Many people some on these threads have not really comprehended what is happening to his poor woman. They are in denial for many different reasons, some personal.
Once they do, they will be as horrified as those who want those feeding tubes in.
And she's not getting any better - so your reference to my spouse is moot
It isn't mute. Like spouses or family members, they do whatever AND more than needs to be done for their 'loved' ones in their crisis. NOT nothing with all the $$means to do it. He promised everything before the $$, after receiving $$, he delivered nothing.
She hasn't gotten better BECAUSE of denial of the treatments she NEEDED to get better He denied her what the doctors said she needed. Deliberate, wouldn't you say. He can say all he wants, his ACTIONS tell the real story. My cousin - at 65 years old - had a heart attack and two strokes - couldn't talk, confined to a wheelchair. Two years later, after agressive therapy, speech and physical, he's walking and talking. It's not a big deal getting someone better - the resources are there - the guardian has to want it though. The patient could want it, the doctor could prescribe it, the nurses could plead for it, but if the guardian says no......it's no!
The intent wasn't to get her better. If you can grasp that concept, you will be more open to the unbelieveble.

This guy have a functioning brain. Terri does not. She cannot do ANYTHING other than lie there, day after day, after day for 15 years. There's no there there. This guy has a there. Terri does not.

Florida does not recognize "common law" marriages, so according to law, she is his only wife.
Heather was born in October 1986. She wasn't due until November. However a ultrasound showed there was no amniotic fluid and a emergency c section was done. As soon as the cord was cut there was lung shock and affixation. She was given CPR for the first 15 minutes of her life. She was given a 25% chance of survival. I knew in my heart that since she was born alive she would make it. We were never told that there would be any chance of disabilities. At six months she started having seizures (infantile spasms).
Our pediatrician laughed at me and said they were seizures and scheduled a EEG for two weeks. Needless to say we weren't happy with him and found another Dr within an hour and she was admitted into the hospital within two hours from that.
We were real lucky with the medications. They put her on Phenobarbital and the seizures were under control within a week. They said she would be on the meds until she was at least 3, probably 5. She was off them within 18 months and has been seizure free since.
Again, there was no mention of any disabilities.
At 7 mths a visiting nurse recommended therapy because she was not doing age appropriate things. Than a friend asked if she had cp. I said I think someone would have mentioned it, but I'll ask. At therapy I asked and was told she had too much muscle tone and that was it. At the next appointment we had to see a CCS doctor.
As soon as I walked in the door she said, "Oh, your daughter does have Cerebral Palsy, always has and always will, she will never walk, she will be severally retarded and she will sit in a wheelchair and drool, now this is how I want you to stretch her legs". Needless to say I was in shock.
After I left I called her Pediatrician and asked what this woman was talking about. We went in and all was finally explained to us.
Her diagnoses is Spastic Quad, visually impaired (legally blind), developmentally delayed and seizure disorder. I then went out to get as much information as possible and continue to do so to this day. She had a Selective dorsal Rhizotomy at age 3 and has has 3 hip surgeries for a dislocated right hip.
With the help of a very supportive family and an awful lot of determination Heather has and continues to defy the doctors, therapist and medical profession in general with her abilities and her progress.
And......once again you ignore the entire tone and premise of MY posts.

He is engaged and has two children w/any woman. He has started a new family. Why didn't he marry the mother of his children. Because he is still married. Why didn't the control freak divorce Terri? Nope, we do away w/her instead w/the blessing of 'his' judge.
His guardianship should have been ripped away years ago.
Every step that has been taken by MS and then approved of by greer has been wrong wrong wrong.
PLEASE don't try to make murder look good with ANY excuse.
