This is a celebration of my right to free speech, press and petition the government. As a whole, the citizens of the United States consider their country to be a democracy. Roger Baldwin, who founded the American Civil Liberties Union in 1920, said, So long as we have enough people in this country to fight for their rights, well be called a democracy.
And now, citizens, we must fight for a more egalitarian society in the United States.
With such an egalitarian society there are no social classes. There is no private property or state. Communism would permit the complete expression of individual and commutative freedom.
This should be appealing for many reasons. A communist United States would allow property to be owned by the community as a whole. Means of production, such as factories, businesses and buildings, would belong to and serve everyone.
It is my opinion that the greatest expression of democracy and equality is the communist system and that it is time for Americans to push for a social revolution where production is made from each according to his abilities, to each according to his needs, as Karl Marx said.

Olivier Lewis is a
sophomore French and international relations major. He is an assistant news editor for Lehigh University's student newspaper, The
Brown and White.

It is difficult to accept what we must about this kind of ideological stupidity, however Oliver's right to think, believe and publish this intellectual "neverland" garbage was purchased by the blood of hundreds of thousands of gallant, brave, true American patriots through the last 2 centuries.
We can only hope that this college sophomore wakes up, once he is confronted with the real world. On the other hand, he could be the Ward Churchill of his generation.

Leninism and Lennonism (" Imagine no possesions, I wonder if you can, No need for greed or hunger, A brotherhood of man, Imagine all the people Sharing all the world.) make for one heapin' helpin' of cowardly nonsense. They should change the name of the Lehigh paper to the "Brown and Yellow", for several obvious reasons...

To: CHARLITE
Yes, because if history has taught us one thing, it is that communist countries are utopias of equality, prosperity, freedom, and joy. (Apart from the mass murder, torture, oppression and suppression, tyranny, economic deprivation, desperation, and hopelessness, that is.)

How can people live such sheltered unobservant lives that they actually believe this stupidity.Marxism flies in the face of all economic history and all tendencies of human nature. That is why it can only be implemented at the point of a sword which of course leads to an internal contradiction, that being all are no longer equal, some have to be in an elevated position to enforce adherence to the system.
A poorly thought out plan on every level.

Whenever these people start off citing the 1st amendment you know; 1) They are about to say something outrageoulsy stupid, libelous or treasonous and are looking for cover and 2)they mean free speech for them, not you and me.

Oh, sure, 'cept all the work would be done by the hard workers, and the slackers would sit around, kiss the butts of our keepers, and reap the benefits of our hard work.
The original American settlers tried this utopian communal living, nearly starved to death, and learned an important lesson in individual ownership.
