After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.
Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.
Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.
The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.
Mel Gibson was almost in tears on Sean. You could feel passion.
I don't consider it bashing... I know what I know, and have seen. I know Jeb and W did all they could with in the law, IMHO.
I blame and feel sad by this whole situation. I see what is happening within my own party. I know Jeb and W wanted to intervene, but IMHO their hands have been tied.
No mater what they did or didn't do.. would make the masses upset with them.
I don't think they can prevent it either. If I were the Schindler's I'd have Terri's name engraved on my headstone along with my own. What's he gonna do about it?
Yea, right, like Terri, in her early 20's actually told HINO that (1) she wouldn't want to prolong her life with a feeding tube; (2) she didn't want to buried with "bugs;" and (3) that she didn't want a memorial.
I NEVER talked about subjects like that when I was in my 20's! Hell, I don't even like to talk about them NOW, in my 50's!!!
I'll NEVER understand why so many people believed MS... why is it so obvious to us, and not to them??? I guess cause they're evil and we're not.
This is a sad, sad day, for Terri, her family, and for our country... God help us all!

I just heard him give a speech about Social Security, though.
The Schindlers will have to have their own memorial mass and service, or can Michael stop that too?
Blame is not a finite substance where there is only so much to go around..
Let ALL who are responsible, either by action or inaction step up and take their lumps like men and women.
If I have the power to stop a child from getting run over in the street, and I don't do it, I am just as guilty as the person who ran the child over.
I respect your POV. I don't agree with it, but I defend your right to feel that way.

OH thank you. This was very helpful to me. God help us to just keep on giving as only YOU taught us to do....... Still in tears here.
I'm 32 years old and have never had the conversation with anyone about life support issues or not, however the other night because of this I told my husband what I wanted and didn't want. He just looked at me like i was crazy and said i have no reason to worry, cause he'd never starve me to death! He is so digusted by this as well!
They have already. I'm sure they will now pretend this never happened. No impeachments, no investigations, no nothing.
Sad they didn't "say all they could say."
Time will tell, but the prolife outrage over this may have sealed the doom of the "Republican experiment" that began in 1994 and expanded in 2000. What's the use of electing Republicans if they cannot even prevent an innocent handicapped woman from being starved and dehydrated in broad daylight? The GOP is impotent.
Besides my Will To Live, I'm telling everyone I know what I want! So there will be no mistaking at the end..
Hopefully, this will have more of an impact that we realize...but it's a shame that Terri has to die first.
That's what I just posted only you said it better. :)
But think of this.. how can it hurt him? He has no where else to go politically.. he has nothing to lose (except his soul) with whatever he does or doesn't do.
It could presumably be a secret mass for Terri, but I think that he can block an open one. We'll find out in a week, to paraphrase Ike, who once quipped when asked to name what important thing that Nixon had done in that administration.

No one, tells me what the alternative would be...
