After much hard work that has gone on for well over a year, it's been a week and 2 days since Terri has been without food and hydration.
Many asking the question how we could have become such a callous society as to deny a helpless human the basic necessity of food and water.
Terri's plight has brought to light many problems in the judicial system and opened our eyes to the fact that some laws need to be changed.
The work will continue to protect helpless individuals from suffering the same injustice as Terri.
"Have any idea when the 11th Circuit Court is going to vote on this?"
Nope....anyone's guess...I think the senate in FL broke for lunch but I am not sure
There's the Federal Disability Act and also the right to life guaranteed in the Constitution.
Also, there have been numerous violations of the Florida Constitution include Florida's Disability laws.
Not only that but Reagan knew the difference between right and wrong and would have NEVER let rhetoric and political expediency stand in the way of saving an American's life.
They are just hoping Terri will die and then they don't have to do anything.
'Morining to All,
I can't tie up my phone line, waiting for a very important call. Idea-Why doesn't one of you just call to Atanta and ask when the hearing will be? I have called to the 6th Circut Court in Florida, from Franc actually, and have gotten this type of information.
I can't tie up my line, expecting a call form a customer who will possibly buy our whole inventory of olive oil so gotta go. I get on for a few minutes check FR and then get off.
In which case, may the Lord keep her going and going and going...as long as she's not suffering. Lord, protect her organs, feed and give her water, and Lord keep her from pain, we pray. In Jesus name.
They are stuffing their faces - eat drink and be merry - while Terri is deprived of food and water. Figures.
FReegards...MUD
All I know is they said on Fox that JJ was in Tallahassee working on getting the bill passed, I think they reconvene at 2 PM FL time.
Well, they DID work hard to get the important issues out of the way. < /sarcasm>
Well....I really hope they enjoy their food and water.
Yep. The roosters are safe.
Wow. Unbelievable.
This country has sunk to new lows.
As the priest on Laura Ingraham's show just said: The boys are dying in Iraq so we can starve a woman in Florida?
No kidding. And Ceasar Chavez Day is now official.
#3699 Bump. This is what can be done.
Hi, Mudboy -- good to see you. I just keep looking at it as the most basic, that Terri is being deprived of her Constitutional rights -- which are recognized in fact as GOD given rights. Man's laws came later and are clearly flawed as regards Terri and others like her.
What's wrong with one person on the chain of command slapping him/herself on the forehead and saying, "Folks, what are we thinking? A woman is being denied water and food in this blessed land of plenty! Now let's make it right for her right now!"
Chickens more important than a person -- now there's right thinking for us! I don't know what more to do . . .
Eisenhower was backed up by a federal court order. If GWB goes into Florida, it will be in defiance of a court ruling. I'm sure that one of the purposes of the Congressiional bill was to get a federal court order that would allow POTUS to intervene if necessary. But without that court order, he would be establishing a very dangerous precedent.
Yesterday on Sean Hannity, David Boies and Jay Sekulow agreed that Jeb has done as much as the law will allow him to do. Jeb is acting as if the ground has been cut out from under him, which is in fact the case. (rebellious police, defiant Republican senators, news that his own head of DCF suppressed reports on Terri). I agree that he's not handling it well, but its unfair to assume that he was insincere from the start-- or that he doesn't care now.

Pray.
I think the state of Florida should have removed Michael as Terri's guardian 8 years ago. DCF should have removed her. Terri is still alive, so there is hope.
