Schiavo Moves Closer to Death (Schindlers Attorney: She Has 'Passed the Point of No Return')
ITV of Britain ^ | 3.27.05 9:49 PM

The Schindlers attorney said that Mrs. Schiavo is declining rapidly and a morphine drip has been administered by medical staff at her hospice to help her ease her pain.

He added, 'At this point, we would say that Terri has passed the point of no return.'

The case has been in and out of court for years and has gripped America.

It has seen the intervention of US President George W. Bush, the US Supreme Court and Florida's Governor Jeb Bush.

The Schindlers, practicing Roman Catholics, have attracted passionate support from an array of Christian conservatives, right to life, and anti abortion advocates, who have been holding vigils outside the hospice.

Just notice the latest posts. Seems to be a trend toward resentment and irritation of others bringing up the subject of Terri.

I don't wonder why; facing the monster causes "discomfort." What is incredulous is that so many are in favor of starving and dehydrating a human being.....

Did anyone else notice the list of Terri's "current" medications in the Exit Protocol link? She had Naprosyn ordered for menstrual cramps... How can someone in a "persistent vegetative state" have pain from menstrual cramps?? Also did any catch that snake in the grass Felos saying yesterday that Terri let out a soft "moan" when the tube was removed? He went on to describe that she would make noises when she was touched firmly or repositioned or if something caused her pain... Seems to contradict everything that he and HINO claimed to justify the death by dehydration....

Yes; many know these things, and judge Greer knows these things because he's been told these things for 10 years....he doesn't care. He wanted Terri dead.

No joke! It isn't like he just signed the Partial Birth Abortion Ban or something...whoops, sorry, he did.

Both Bushes have done everything they can legally do. What do these blowhards want want, a declaration martial law?

I know this is way out there, but should Terri live through the night, wouldn't the feds be legally within their authority AND jurisdiction (in accordance with the rule of law gods) to remove her, by whatever means necessary, and escort to Washington?

I think now that the euthanasia crowd has their very public legal precedent, they no longer need to worry about the small details.

And what a surpise it has been to see the Death Cult so strongly represented on FR. A Conservative forum?

So a picture of you with your mother or best friend means you are the same as them? gop's picture is Terry face beside the face of Jesus. Nothing insinuates she has been placed as "the same as Jesus".

It's a beautiful picture, gop, thank you.

From what I understand, there is already enough evidence to have begun a criminal investigation that would have allowed Jeb to remove her from the hospice as a witness.

From what I also understand, those who have Congressional Subpoenas are supposed to have automatic protection as a federal witness.

This would be that "pain" she's not suffering as she enjoys this blissful, euphoric experience the intelligentsia all assure us she's having?

I have no polite words.

The case is not a success story for the judicial system. For the judicial system to work, however, the lawyers need to do their part, too.

Best as I am aware, the Schindler lawyers are pretty notable screwups. Their big chance was to get a genuine full de novo review, with new discovery and new evidence, once they got to Federal Court. They didn't. If they took that posture the court would have had to reconnect her feeding tube pending the final decision, as a practical matter.

The lawyers treated their trip to Federal Court as if it were an appeal of the State Court. Bad lawyering. In fact, it's just dumb. They seem fixated on making (and reiterating) the same (losing) arguments - that's the definition of insanity.

The dissent in the 11th Cir is correct, best as I am aware - the court could have gone on and done a de novo review despite the fact that the Sincidler's lawyers didn't really ask for one. That being said, it wouldn't have been reduced to a mention of a dissent if THE LAWYERS DID THEIR JOB!

Terri Schiavo has had terrible lawyers looking out for her at almost every step of the way. While the judges have stunk, also, blame rests as much with her shoddy lawyers who don't seem to know much of what they are doings.

And as far as the Schindlers are concerned, they showed some poor judgment also. Randall Terry as a family adviser and spokesman? That's no way to build consensus - he alienates many people before he even opens his mouth.

This is not only a legal battle but a public relations battle - the Schindlers have consistently dropped the ball with their questionable judgment calls of family friends like Terry and much more importantly the legal mouthpieces they have chosen during this terrible tragedy.

That's what I thought, too. Funny how the "rule of law" gang is so selective of which rules of law are to be follwed.

They're consistently selective about following the rule of law....which means, there is no rule of law.

My mother in her final stages of cancer was given morphine orally under the tounge. The doctor said it was to help with her pain and make her comfortable. She said goodbye to all of us, went to sleep and died that night.

That was 9 years ago today.

Actually, they're just trying to stir us up against the Bush family.

They've been doing this for years. They come on this site and drop a bomb - usually about Bush - and then they sit back and watch us go ballistic. It's a game - a game they have been playing ever since I've been on FR.

I just refuse to play. Most of the time I ignore them - but sometimes like now .. I have a hard time with it. I am confident that if either of the Bush men could have done something LEGALLY - they would have done it.

I expect the same ones will return when the criminal investigation begins into the handling of this case. In fact I'm waiting for them.

I truly think he [George Felos] has begun to think of himself as God's agent and when he sees peacefulness in Terri, I think what he is seeing is the weird peace he himself feels as the agent of death. I would love to have a few psychologists discuss this.

Felos emerges onto the scene as a bizarre character steeped in a hippie-type spritism that flourished in the 60's and 70' of the last century.

Details of the long, eccentric trip that led him into the present spotlight are detailed elsewhere, but one of the key questions in the executiion of Terri Schiavo jumps out .

Should one of the key players who has heavily influenced and directed the actions of Michael Schiavo and Judge George Greer be someone who is an individual suffers episodes of hallucinations?

Everyone agrees that an individual has a perfect right to any private belief--even when seemingly irrational. But when these otherwoldly experiences intrude deeply into the field of judicial litigation and lead to the condemning of an innocent person to death by probate decision, then some kind of line must be drawn.

There must be some recourse in a legal system that allows such death-decisions to be made with this kind of off-the-wall illogic percolating just under the surface of the Court's rulings.

Let other cases concluded on the basis of supernatural occurences go unchallenged, but not--for God's sake--a case which terminates in the death of an innocent victim.

Why--Why--wasn't a de novo re-examination of all evidence and all rulings made upon that evidence in Greer's case-n-chief accomplished--as virtually ordered by the United States Congress?

Here's a startling look into the mind of George Felos revealed in his own words.

Lawyer George Felos practices yoga at his Dunedin home to help him cope with the stresses of cases such as that of Terri Schiavo. Felos represents her husband, Michael Schiavo, in his efforts to have her feeding tube removed.

Source
Felos clearly believes in reincarnation and even discusses a conversation with his yet-to-be-conceived, unborn son, who told Felos, 'I’m ready to be born. . .will you stop this fooling around!" (75). He cites this experiences as proof of the validity of perhaps the most bizarre claim in the book concerning what he calls a "soul-speak" conversation he claims to have had with Browning--the patient in the "right-to-die" case. While she never uttered an audible sound, Felos writes that he was able to communicate with the radically debilitated stroke victim who could not talk. He writes:

As I continued to stay beside Mrs. Browning at her nursing home bed, I felt my mind relax and my weight sink into the ground. I began to feel light-headed as I became more reposed. Although feeling like I could drift into sleep, I also experienced a sense of heightened awareness.

As Mrs. Browning lay motionless before my gaze, I suddenly heard a loud, deep moan and scream and wondered if the nursing home personnel heard it and would respond to the unfortunate resident. In the next moment, as this cry of pain and torment continued, I realized it was Mrs. Browning.

I felt the mid-section of my body open and noticed a strange quality to the light in the room. I sensed her soul in agony. As she screamed I heard her say, in confusion, "Why am I still here. . .Why am I here?" My soul touched hers and in some way I communicated that she was still locked in her body. I promised I would do everything in my power to gain the release her soul cried for. With that the screaming immediately stopped. I felt like I was back in my head again, the room resumed its normal appearance, and Mrs. Browning, as she had throughout this experience, lay silent (73).

[Emphasis added]

"Mrs. Schiavo is declining rapidly and a morphine drip has been administered by medical staff at her hospice to help her ease her pain."

This can't be. The subhumans on the Left have assured everyone that death by dehydration and starvation is, in their words, "beautiful."

I'm surprised the Brownshirts haven't demanded the morphine drip be pulled.

"Afterall - why would any want to insinuate that Terri is the same as Jesus - just not so at all. We love Terri but she is a human not Jesus."

Jesus Christ was human too, fully man and fully God, both at the same time, according to classical Christian belief. It surprises me that so many on FR seem unaware of this. It's basic Christian belief. Therefore, it is entirely appropriate to compare Terri, or any human being, to Jesus Christ for that very reason.

"This is the very same thing we run into on abortion. To condemn the act, condemns them for their past."

Only if one's conscience condemns them, can he/she hope to be redeemed. Shame is like pain; it is a warning that something is wrong. Only when acknowledgement is made, can it be set right.
