Demonstrators Mary Porta, kneeling, and others pray for Terri Schiavo, Easter Sunday, March 27, 2005, outside the hospice, where Terri resides, in Pinellas Park, Fla. Under increased security and with fading hopes, Terri Schiavo's parents asked supporters to return home to spend Easter Sunday with their families as the couple's severely brain-damaged daughter went a ninth day without food or water. I hate to say it, but it looks like Janet Reno has more balls than Jeb does.

Well, maybe just as many. A LOT more testosterone, for sure!

Id Fred Phelps had an angle, he'd be out there with his hatred. I remember when he demonstrated at Goldwater's funeral.

But, given Alan Keyes treatment of his daughter...........

It's the mirror thing. It goes: what we see in others is no more than a mirror image of ourselves. It's a very old idea going back to when mirrors were made of metal and had to be polished frequently in order to see clearly. Thus the expression, 'polishing the mirror'; when someone is on your case they are polishing the mirror.

Yeah. It's kind of foreign to us here, but it is an ancient point of view.

Maybe if you're lucky, she'll run for governor and replace him. I hope, if that happens, that you'll be living in Florida when it does - just for making that remark.

I never said I would elect her, hire her or recommend her for any position higher than sewer rat. Believe me, I wouldn't. I was simply expressing my opinion that Jeb needed to have the intestinal fortitude to step up to the plate better than he did... and he didn't. His efforts were great as far as they went. But they didn't (in my humble opinion) go far enough.

Frankly, all of this seems to be a common Republic malady. The loony leftists have enough brass to loudly and publicly proclaim evil good, to stare the camera in the face and tell bold-faced lies, to insist that others are right-wing kooks for daring to suggest that judges actually be given up or down votes as has been done for 200 years, and to call the rightful defense of America treason. Republicans, all too often, don't even seem to have enough guts to stick up for foundational truth. They allow the Democrats to call black white and white black, and all too often, don't even raise a voice to object.

Matchett-PI: ""As long as the Constitution stands in their way"

Sam Cree: "Hope for the best on that one."

"Hope" isn't enough. We must make sure we get rid of anyone in high power who believes that the Constitution is a "living document". That means that they are a threat to our freedoms since they don't believe that it was only put into place to guard absolute [self-evident] truth.

It is a meaningless document otherwise.

In life you do have to look at long term goals. However, you can't ignore the short term or there is no long term.
I fear the republican party will be in sever decline after this inaction. If they are ineffective, (this is certaianly not the first example, just the worst) why vote for them.

I take it from some of the remarks on this thread that we don not have very many carismatic Christians here. There are many ways of worshiping. Some people need the old traditional "high" liturgy to feel as if they are worshiping. Some need a relaxed "social club" approach to feel comfortable. But charismatics are serious about worship. They put their whole body & soul into praying, singing and testifying. It's noisy and appears to be caotic, but it's their way and I wouldn't knock it. Neither would I mock them out of fear of God's wrath. "He who says, "thou fool" is in danger of hellfire."

"Spiritualy mature legalist" is an oxymoron.

He doesn't understand 1 Corinthians 13.

Neither does the "Rev" Fred Phelps, Sr.
