(Attorney)Weller said Terri cried when her mother hugged her Saturday night. "She knows what's going on. She was trying to vocalize something with Mary."
"The governor should know that Terri still knows who her mother is, and she's extremely distressed," Weller said. "She's not a vegetable who doesn't know what is happening."
Paul O'Donnell, a Roman Catholic Franciscan monk, said the family unsuccessfully urged Michael Schiavo to allow his wife the sacrament of communion during the holiest feast of the Catholic year. She received last rites the day the feeding tube was pulled.
"This is in violation of her religious rights and freedoms and allows the governor to ... intervene," O'Donnell said, repeating the family's request that the governor take Schiavo into protective custody. "We beg you to have courage and take action."

If it be Your will and in accordance with Your plan, spare Terri's life and let her be placed in the care of her parents. Give wisdom and courage to those who might save her I ask in Your name Lord Jesus Christ- Amen
Thank you for being there. I cannot imagine the pain and suffering. "Jesus wept."

> It's time for some bad laws to be repealed.
Lots of laws need to be either repealed or amended. I'll bet a lot of Americans agree with your wish.
The greater problem is how to rein in activist judicial community members like Greer who willy-nilly establish non-statutory, judicially-created law. The custom of "precedence" is firmly entrenched in American jurisprudence. Bringing the precedence custom to heel will be a lot more difficult than amending or repealing laws.
Because the legislative and executive branches utterly failed in their attempts to curtail Greer's precedent-setting extralegal decisions, Americans are now saddled with judicially-sanctioned civil execution.
Doesn't matter if you CHOOSE to believe it or not - It will not change the truth. Doesn't matter is you don't want to hear it - the truth needs to be said.
- What you do to one of my own, you do unto ME -
Thanks EV for giving comfort to those who need it. You have pleased Our Heavenly Father.
Happy Resurrection Day to you both.
Typical - try to defame her when they sealed her up so she can't defend herself. Schiavo should be more concerned about himself.
Bingo.
The church needs to exxcommunicate any Catholics in the Fla. legislature that voted against saving Terri.Anyone that advocates Starvation isn't Catholic anyway.
If I were Michael's common law wife, I'd make secret tapes of every conversation about Terri and put them in a safe deposit box. I'd get worried when we finally married and he took out sizable life insurance policies on me. I'd write a letter and a living will saying 'keep me on life support no matter what', and I'd leave them with a lawyer...not that lying media hog representing Michael. At some point I'd mention that if anything untoward happened to me, his goose was cooked.
Hope you made and enjoyed your sandwich. That is not gluttoney!
Gee, where's the ACLU?
They sure show up quickly when some terrorist at Gitmo CLAIMS that he is denied daily prayers to Ala or some such thing, but heck - Terri (a practicing Catholic) is denied final Communion, and...NOTTA.
The hypocrisy of these people astounds me. We've all known for years that they ARE the primary drivers of anti-Christianity and anti-Americanism, but this tops it all.
How anyone aside from the terrorists and haters of America (eg: Jabba the Moore) can give $$s to these idiots is beyond me.
I will bet you anything she doesn't look like this anymore..
Three things here, and I'll take them in order:
1. Your manners remain as deplorable as ever, and your smarmy silliness continues to disgust decent people on this forum post-by-disgusting-post. FYI, it's considered mannerly, on a basic level, to *ping posters you're discussing with a third party to the post in which such a discussion is taking place. But such things seem to beyond your ability to grasp, so let's move on to...
2. Far from becoming a "minority," most FReepers are repulsed by the minuscule band, of which you're a prime example, of posters who've made taking the most radical position possible on this issue into a litmus test: the "God haters" lined up on one side; the "righteous" on the other. Most of us, myself included, opposed removing the feeding tube from Terri Schiavo. Most of us, myself included, supported the efforts of those who tried to stop it legally and constitutionally, even if torn on the overall merits of the case. We were overruled. Disagree with it as you might, and I might, that's part and parcel of living in a Republic that respects, above all, the Rule of Law. If ANYTHING is the essence of what's called "conservatism," that principle is.
3. Finally, and least importantly, is this: I know not either "Just mythoughts" or "DaughterOfAnIwoJimaVet"; I cannot honestly recall interacting with either of them in my time here. I'm vaguely familiar with "Chad Fairbanks" from various threads over the years, and my overall impression is that we wouldn't/don't have much use for each other. Indeed, as you no doubt noticed in that other thread I waded into against your nonsense and only incidentally in his defense, he didn't so much as squeak "boo" in gratitude.
And I wouldn't have it ANY other way; I don't have much use for his brand of FReeper or the company he keeps around here and, apparently, he mine. But the larger point, and the one I want to impress on YOU, is this: I have even LESS use for yours. If history teaches us nothing else, it tells us that the one sure mark of unhinged fanaticism is when the response to it involves the unifying of two completely disparate and otherwise mutually disdainful sides in reaction to it. You've managed it here, and still have no shame--though your cheeks should blush with it.
I'd think about that for a bit, where I you.
What purpose would that serve? Just asking.
