(Attorney)Weller said Terri cried when her mother hugged her Saturday night. "She knows what's going on. She was trying to vocalize something with Mary."
"The governor should know that Terri still knows who her mother is, and she's extremely distressed," Weller said. "She's not a vegetable who doesn't know what is happening."
Paul O'Donnell, a Roman Catholic Franciscan monk, said the family unsuccessfully urged Michael Schiavo to allow his wife the sacrament of communion during the holiest feast of the Catholic year. She received last rites the day the feeding tube was pulled.
"This is in violation of her religious rights and freedoms and allows the governor to ... intervene," O'Donnell said, repeating the family's request that the governor take Schiavo into protective custody. "We beg you to have courage and take action."

MS.BEHAVIN,Thank you .I am not that good ,have to go to bed with tears in my eyes for Terri and her family.Good Night All.
> I heard it reported that he was going to take her ashes to Pennsylvania and let them go on the wind in a field, so there'd be absolutely nothing left for her family.
The Schiavo family plot would leave them nearly as deprived as wind dispersal.
> Michael is Evil Incarnate.
No doubt about that.
Okay!
I heard on the Jerry Dowyle show today that Judge Greer has a tattoo of a Pentagram on his butt.
BTW, I guess the pill was a dud.
Take Care.
I would "prefer" that you cultivate some basic manners and take a crash course in the fundamentals of decent social civility. But I doubt that's going to happen anytime soon, if ever...
Your pitiful scribblings are a disgrace to this forum in general, and this topic in particular. Period.
Same way I always do,HTML code.Try yours again.
Chad, you're talking to a guy that has supported virtually everything this president has done. I voted for him twice and worked to help spread the word, I have debated against fools form MoveOn.org, I have gone door to door registering Republicans, I have helped raise money for the party, etc. I have been a true supporter of President Bush to the core. I have seen him as a strong, courageous, principled leader who stands up against evil and the leftist agenda.
That's what I THOUGHT.
But let me inform you about something here. GWB has the power AND the full legal right to save Terri Schiavo. The congressional subpeona is not being enforced, and the President has the power to act upon it. But he isn't.
And Jeb is politically and morally sterile as well.
It's not "popular" according to the ABC News poll. That disgusts me.
Now if the issue was something trivial, I would consider my thoughts to be over-reactive. But this is NOT trivial. This is NOT something to take lightly. This is an innocent life being snuffed out at the hands of our own Government. That ought to piss you off, people.
Our poll-driven leaders are too p***y to stand up for what's right and put a fork right now in the road of America's love affair with death. But instead, no one is doing anything and Terri will die, our death culture will grow, Michael Schiavo will get away with murder, and our judicial system remain unchecked.
Now, if that's what you want then fine, but that's not my America.
We have made a wrong turn onto a dark road and unfortunately my party (remember that includes Greer) was at the steering wheel.
Again, God I miss Ronald Reagan right now.
I firmly agree and couldn't have said it better.
Actually yes it was over-the-top rhetoric. But it was good rhetoric. However, one thing Reagan DIDN'T do was invade the Soviet Union. Did he? I served under Reagan, and don't recall that happening.
The Chads and Iwo and Justmythoughts--marvelous thing--are becoming a minority on freerepublic.
Ahhh now we get to the real heart of it. Only people who believe exactly what you believe should be here, right? Now we get to the crux of it. Go ahead and try to drive us all away - YOU, dear "lady" (and I use that term loosely) are what is called The Fringe. That's where you are, and that is where you will always be.
The appeasing Tories within the conservative movement are finally admitting what they really like is order, and not liberty. I hope they can see that in themselves and reform, but if we lose them, so be it.
Yup. If you "lose us", we'll still be the party in power, fighting the good fight within the bounds of our Constitutional Republic, rather than the theocracy you seem to crave so desperately, and fringers like you will remain irrelevent, screaming and pissing and moaning because no one takes you seriously.
And I am going to laugh about it, for a brief moment, then promptly relegate you to the dustbin of history, where all fringers end up.
Why do you miss Reagan? What would he have done that GWB isn't doing?
I'll tell you - nothing. Reagan would not have done anything Bush hasn't already done.
May I remind you that if it weren't for what you call us "fringers", the GOP would still be in the minority. Study your history, oh wee lib one, and you will see that the 1980 elections changed the Republican Party, bringing in the "Social Conservative".
Theocracy? You really are beginning to sound like a DUer.
I'm a social conservative, you ninny. Just not a fringer like you.
You can remind me of that all you want. However, if ya all feel like taking your ball and going home, feel free... You really bring nothing constructive to the table anyway.
A lot more than GWB has done. Reagan had the b***s to get it done. He had the b***s to stand up for what was just, even as our own party leaders admonished him. He had true courage. Go back and study his presidency again to refresh your memory. He wasn't swayed by polls, he was lead by his heart, his moral convictions, and he did what was right.
I recall Reagan bugging out of Beruit, too. I admire Reagan, but that wasn't oneof his finest moments.
However, Reagan isn't here to tell us what he would have done were he in this position today, so neither one of us really knows. I, for one, believe he would be doing exactly what GWB is doing.
Interesting, Chad.
So you're a social conservative also? Oh, ok.
I'm the fringe you say.
Ok brother. I'm gonna go ahead and stand up for life and defend life against this country's mounting death obsession, even if that means subverting the "structure" of our current political system.
You seem to be fine with the status quo, Chad.
Well, my GOP friend, the status quo is about to murder Terri Schiavo for no Godam reason. It's time for a change.
Funny you should mention that benighted little cesspool of a website, Mr. "RNC" fella. I think ONE of you has all the hallmark posting prowess of "a DUer," and it's not Mr. Fairbanks...
Get real.
G'night Chad. It's good to debate you, but I vehomently oppose your position on the current cowardice of our political leaders.
Anyway, night Chad and everybody else.
:)
God bless Terri Schindler
