Contrary to predictions that Terri Schiavo's starvation death would be painless and dignified, an eyewitness who visited her hospice room early Saturday morning reports that she is now bleeding from the eyes and mouth.
Fox News Channel's "Fox & Friends" reported Saturday morning:
"Barbara Weller, who's is one of the attorneys for the Schindlers, says that the last time she checked in, not very many hours ago, Terri's eyes and tongue were bleeding now.
"Her eyes are sunken and her skin continues to flake off," Weller added.
On Thursday Terri's parents reported that their daughter now resembles "an Auschwitz victim."
At the request of Michael Schiavo's attorney, Judge George Greer has banned cameras and video equipment from her room, precluding the possibility that a photographic record of her deteriorating condition might be kept.
The eyewitness accounts stand in stark contrast to predictions from medical experts cited in numerous media reports who insisted that Terri's starvation death would not be gruesome.
On Wednesday, for instance, the Los Angles Times reported:
"Doctors say that going without food and water in the last weeks of life is not traumatic, and that the body is equipped to adjust to such conditions."
The paper quoted Dr. Perry G. Fine, vice president of medical affairs at the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization in Arlington, Va.
I did a search on prior posts for "computer" "simulation" and "photoshop" and got nothing, so here goes:
I know it's a second best answer, but couldn't somebody work with those who have seen her, with the help of a knowledgeable doctor, preferably one who has studied the case, and do a computer rendering of what she actually looks like, and then have the witnesses who saw her say "yes, that's how she was"? Perhaps even do a time-lapse thing to show the deterioration?
This doesn't beat the real deal but it beats a blank by a mile.

Maybe a little anticipated but beneficial result of this is that we can now justify disbanding a very large part of the UN's organizations. The first to go must be UNICEF. And as one who Trick or Treated for UNICEF to help starving children let me say right now " I want that money back"!!
I feel awful that by my actions then and continued support for campaigns to alleviate world hunger I prevented so many from having a peaceful euphoric experience. One that would bring them closer, umm make that very close to God.
Also I wonder how many of the well fed death merchants seek after this euphoria? Numbers please.

Lookit, if God hasn't lifted a finger to prevent:
The millions of innocent babies aborted every year
The millions of people murdered by the communists, Nazis and criminals
What makes you think he's going to miraculously intervene and save a woman whose brain is incapable of cognitive thought or action?
Shouldn't your prayer be focused on saving the millions of babies who die from abortions each year? At least they have a chance of cognitive life whereas Terri doesn't.

Please note there have been several statements that are very careful to distinguish what happens when a terminally ill person in the endstage of their illness is taken off feeding tube and what happens when a non terminal person has their feeding tube withdrawn. I suggest you do a web search for Wesley Smith as I think his columns have made this distinction. Basically you are right that in patient's such as your uncle the process would not be like that described for Terri.
If it is to me, I assure you my father did have medication. His body was covered with transdermal morphine patches. I do mean literally covered. He also had patches of medication for his intense nausea. I want to say scopamine but I am not presently sure of the medication. I have his records and would check if you would like. You see, as he went without food or hydration in combination with his pain medication, I presume, he became incredibly nauseated. However, his vomitus more often than not could not be expelled due to the tumor blocking anything going in or coming out.
What did come up and out did so causing him tremendous pain and often caused great bleeding. Because of the bleeding from the force of his vomiting, and because his tumor grew so close to his carotid artery, we were told to have dark towels on hand in the event of the artery rupturing. The dark towels were to conceal the amounts of blood that would be released so as not to cause my father "fear" and "panic" if this were to happen.
As I said, I have pictures and video of my father during his last few months. The video evidences his struggle to drink and his emotional and physical agony at not being able to. There are also moments in which he literally falls to the floor his body being wracked by pain. The photos evidence a rapidly growing squamous cell carcinoma which eventually grew outward leaving a hole in his neck/ upper chest (around his stoma) the size of a grapefruit and the multitude of patches covering his body.
My family and I know too well what my father endured throughout his last two weeks of life on this earth. We saw it first hand as did many of our wonderful friends nad loved ones who volunteered in shifts to be with us so that we were never alone nor was he.
"They'd knock her back down by force and Judge Greer would rule that once she's dead, she'd darned well better stay dead. The 11th Dist. Court would uphold it, and the USSC would refuse to hear an appeal."
If God raised Terri from the dead, her murderers would be dropping dead at the same time.
Any IV's to keep that person hydrated? Any ice chips or wet wash clothes placed on the lips?
Oh God, please leave this poor family alone. I know your intentions are good, but for heaven's sakes, let Terri have SOME dignity.
