BREAKING NEWS: Amber Alert Canceled, Body Found (Jetseta Gage)
KCRG NEws ^

Posted on 03/25/2005 1:14:41 PM PST by JCRoberts

Police have canceled an Amber Alert after finding a body in rural Johnson County. A positive identification of the body has not been made.

The Alert had been issued after ten-year-old Jetseta Gage disappeared from her Cedar Rapids home on Thursday night.

Police located 37-year-old Roger Paul Bentley in Johnson County this morning. He is in custody but has not been charged.

Jetsetta's mother Trena Gage says the Bently was a family friend who worked on her car occassionally. He was at the home from about noon until eight and Gage says her son saw the 10-year-old get into Bentley's truck. She told TV9, "My son said he saw my daughter in the truck...she has permission because because we've known him so long. I got back at 8:30 and she was gone."

"I'm distraught. I'm just praying," Trena told the Cedar Rapids Gazette. "I just want her home."

Jetseta, who is mentally challenged, is a white 10-year-old, stands 4 feet 6 inches tall and weighs 90 pounds. Again, she was last seen wearing an orange coat and purple pants.

The suspect Roger Bently is listed on the Iowa Sex Offenders Registry for a 1994 Buchanan County conviction involving a white female under age 13.

It's time to start executing child molestors on the FIRST offense.

And people wonder why sex offenders get harrassed and threatened when they move into your neighborhood. Oh, they've paid for what they did. They have rights now. We can't punish them forever. BULL!

"Castration would fix it too, wouldn't it ? >p> I don't think so. They would then use an OBJECT to do what they physcially cannot. IMHO."

A certain percentage of rapists already use objects bcse they have impotence problems. Castration in their cases would only give them a better excuse. Better to kill 'em.

Decided to see what sort of vermin was within pistol range in my zip code using the state DPS system in place.......found one that dwells right down the street........

Folks....it's waaaaaaaay too easy to check and see how close these animals are to you and your loved ones. Check it....use the zip code or street address feature. Agree most of these losers won't crap in their own neighborhood but when the state will let ya know in such a manner what kind of trash is trolling your waters I say take advantage of it and be "aware" of who ya let near yer family . Caution & Educate your children as to all strangers and especially a known threat.

Stay safe !

Why can't the FBI take them out silently?? I have no problems with these freaks having "accidents". Makes more sense to put tax dollars there, than for prison upkeep.

Kill them. Right away. Problem solved.

I agreee. Death on the first offense, every time.

Some people say this would be more dangerous, because the perps would then be more likely to kill the child so as not to leave a witness. My answer to that is that mere child molesters should get a nice peaceful death by lethal injection, while child murderers should get a flogging like in "Passion of the Christ" before being staked to an anthill or hung in chains. Make it take them a week to die, in public, and let would-be molesters pass by and see their agony.

Let's get down to specifics: Name one state, and its current laws for sexual offences, and what you would change about those current laws.

I have heard in the past discussions on this topic on talk TV, the ACLU always gets involved, threatens law suits and then nothing happens. We need to start ignoring th is group to get anythng done.
It is sickening that so many children are taken from their homes, raped and then murdered. It is outrageous

Yeah it's real easy to do in Iowa.

The general public can access the Iowa Sex Offender Registry by contacting any of the county sheriff offices or police departments within the state of Iowa. The following is required by the Iowa Sex Offender Registry to request information:

Completion of a “Request for Registry Information” form (DCI-150) which is available at the county sheriff's office or local police department..

The individual’s name that you wish to inquire upon; AND ONE OR MORE OF THE FOLLOWING IDENTIFIERS

-- Date of Birth

-- Social Security Number

-- Address

When inquiry is made you will be notified whether or not the individual is registered. If the individual is registered. If the individual is registered with the Iowa Sex Offender Registry as of the date and time of the inquiry, you will receive a computer printout indicating that information. The printout will include the individual’s name, address and physical descriptors including scars, marks and tattoos. The printout will not disclose information about the crime or the victim(s).

The name and identifier(s) of the individual you have requested information upon must match with the information contained in the database before Registry information can be released.

Iowa law DOES NOT allow for the release of an entire listing of registrants in your county, city, or neighborhood. A form must be completed for each person that you wish to inquire upon. There is no limit to the number of inquiries you can request and there is no charge to obtain this information.

The purpose of the information you receive from an inquiry is to permit you to protect yourself and other family members from potential harm.

Actions taken by you against an individual including vandalism of property, verbal or written threats of harm or physical assault against this person, his or her family, or employer can result in your arrest and prosecution.

Quit trying to hijack this one.
