Bush Decries "Vigilantes," For Reasonable Immigration Policy(W Calls Minutemen "Vigilantes")

U.S. News] Washington, Mar 24 : President George W Bush has decried efforts by armed private groups to act as self-appointed policemen to bar illegal Mexican immigrants coming into the United States, and pledged to push for a "reasonable" immigration policy.

More than 1,000 people--including 30 pilots with their private planes--have volunteered for what they call their "Minuteman Project", seeking to monitor the movement of illegal aliens during April and report them to the Border patrol.

Bush said after yesterday's summit with Mexican President Vicente Fox and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin at Baylor University that he finds such actions unacceptable.

"I am against vigilantes in the united States of America," Bush said at a joint press conference.

"I am for enforcing the law in a rational way." The Minuteman Project, The Washington Times notes, was born out of a long-held perception among many U.S. Residents that more Border Patrol agents are needed to handle the flow of illegal immigrants.

Bush, who is struggling to reduce the huge budget deficit, was criticised by both Republicans and Democrats earlier this month for failing to add 2,000 agents to the Border Patrol, as set out in the intelligence overhaul legislation he signed in December. The President's fiscal 2006 budget proposal allows enough money to add only 210 agents for the US borders with Canada and Mexico.

Bush said that he will "continue to push for a reasonable, commonsense immigration policy." He has proposed legislation to grant guest-worker status to millions of illegal aliens already in the United States. PTI

Heck, W is more concerned about securing the borders in Iraq than he is in America!

W spends BILLIONS in the Middle East fighting terrorists and he leaves the back door open in America?
HELLOOOO???

Nature abhors a vacuum, Mr. President.

If you don't do it, someone will.

He's right:

Main Entry: vig·i·lan·te
Pronunciation: "vi-j&-'lan-tE
Function: noun
Etymology: Spanish, watchman, guard, from vigilante vigilant, from Latin vigilant-, vigilans
: a member of a volunteer committee organized to suppress and punish crime summarily (as when the processes of law appear inadequate); broadly : a self-appointed doer of justice

That definition seems appropriate. They are vigilantes.

Bush, in fact the whole clan are done - this is it - I am sick and tired of them. I will work for anyone to get in office, yes even Hitlery, over these F'n back stabbing elitist RINOs. At least with Hitlery you know your enemy and we may get a congress that will unite to grow some balls.

If there is another terrorist attack, Bush can bend over and kiss his legacy goodbye!

Illegal immigration is just terrorism in slow motion!

How many murders, rapes, assaults, burglaries and child molestations do these people commit? Why are our Federal and State prisons jammed with them in numbers vastly exceeding their percentage of the population? Are you any less dead if you die from an illegal immigrants tuberculosis or hepatitis or chinga then if you die from a terrorists anthrax?

Don't forget John Lee Malvo!

Illegal immigrants = Terrorists

Bush is way out in left (literally) field on this issue. I can't recall him ever saying anything quite so direct about the people from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, etc. who are routinely breaking our immigration laws with the full knowledge and complicity of the Mexican government and Bush's "buddy" Vicente Fox. Furthermore, the Mexican government employs the Mexican military to enforce its own immigration laws on the Mexico-Guatemala border; isn't that a bit of irony?

"isn't that a bit of irony?"
It's hypocritical as hell! Fox wants his people to be allowed to freely cross the American border but is emphatically against folks crossing Mexico's southern border!

Bush is an hypocrite.

His neighbors suffer repeated trespasses, yet he denies them.

The law says no trespassing, but he does not enforce the law.

Take his ranch, put it on the border - directly alongside the neighbors who are suffering, and Bush would have his security stop tresspassers onto his land and call that "rational" ... while accusing his neighbors who do the exact same thing, as being "irrantional" and "vigilantes."

NOTE: A vigilante is a person who exacts punishment. Bush's description of his neighbors, does not apply.

Thought I was being an adult by pointing out that the Minuteman Project IS a group of vigilantes. THEY ARE!!! If you assign a negative connotation to that term, that's your problem.

Frankly, I applaud their efforts, but they ARE vigilantes. They should be proud of the term.

Invasion. (two edged sword on this issue).

A)We are being invaded.
B) Mexico should be invaded to repay the favor.

This is a Rome-Carthage "thing."

Mexico delenda est.

"I am against vigilantes in the united States of America," Bush said at a joint press conference.

Vigilantes CREATED the united States of America. And may yet save it.

"I am for enforcing the law in a rational way

Then DO IT, El Presidente!!

If AQ slips through Mexico and launches a successful attack, there will be hell to pay.

If the attack is anywhere near the scale of 9/11, he'll face calls for impeachment.

Why wait? Why not draw up articles of impeachment now? It might scare him into action.
