The people of Florida should immediately begin targeting the Senators who would not save this womans life. Run them out of the State of Florida. We may not be able to save Terri, but the people of Florida can ruin the careers of those who voted no and change the laws so this does not happen again. That is where I would focus my anger.

So the court thinks sodomy is a federal issue but not the life of a disabled woman? Who wants to bet the federal courts would have taken the case had Michael the bigamist LOST in state court? They like the outcome. That's all.

If Terri were seeking to make virtual kiddie porn, the federal courts would hear her case. If she were seeking to engage in sexual perversion, the court would hear her case. If she were seeking to kill her unborn child, the federal courts would absolutely hear her case. But she is seeking to live. That's all. Live. And the court won't hear her case.

"I don't think he has the authority to prevent illegal actions by anyone, government or not. If the Executive acts illegally then summonses are issued. And not necessarily by him regardless of the connection here. He would have to file with the Attorney Gen. of FL I would think."

Oh, he has the authority. Injunctions are issued all the time against government agencies, as Greer did in this case. Wishing will not make it otherwise.

And those injunctions will be honored by Jeb Bush and the DCF. They have no alternative.

The problem here with the DCF acting is that the target of their action is already involved with the courts. This is not a case where a person is standing alone. Since a court already has essential custody of Terri and proceedings have taken place and she has been found to be in a persistent vegetative state, the DCF cannot really act if the presiding judge in that case orders them not to.

You may not like this situation, and neither do I, but the DCF is now enjoined not to remove Terri from the hospice or to do anything else regarding her. It is a legal injunction, whether we like it or not.

No, it will be "Terri Schiavo is dead, her parents will to take her was rejected", with "Maryland state assembly considers adopting bill protecting rights of same sex partners to medical decisions". (The latter actually happened today!)

America is going in the direction of BARRING unconditional love and care of people by the very parents who created them (family love), and protecting the wills of homosexuals in unions, raising them to the level of direct family members. All in one week. Sick. And how many terrorists are having their rights reviewed over Guantanamo or panties on the head this week? And how many people got prison sentences for dragging puppies behind a car this week?

SICK country with SICK priorities, I'll tell you.

Pretty damn scary when a state judge can order sheriffs to take action like this. How does this separate 2005 America from nazi Germany??

I use de Toqueville's quote again: America will cease to be great when it ceases to be good. Sad to say, we are at that point now.

Scott Peterson is going to have lots of new buddies in about 90 days when he is transferred into the death row population.

Don't you know the almighty polls are saying that the majority didn't want congress intervening and agree with Terri's "right to die."

Did you read how those poll questions were phrased? It was unreal. I figured they were slanted, but they were completely unbelievable. There is an article by Michelle Malkin that discusses this... worth reading if you haven't seen it already.

Turley is correct.

This needs to be slapped down hard or else the judiciary can order non-enforcement of other valid laws.

Yet another reason for a Constitutional Amendment to elect the judiciary.

You do know that Greer was reelected in 2004.

The House lawyers could not get involved. Everytime I have seen this team on TV, I have shuddered then Larry Klayman shows up. We have some really great minds at conservative law centers but yet they were not asked to come in and help. Right to Life and others get tons of donations, where were their lawyers?

I am not blaming the family because they had no means to go out and hire the best attorneys and I think Randall Terry sweet talked them, but what was wrong with the legal team itself not asking for help?

Jeb is too busy asking the courts if he can be governor today to actually BE GOVERNOR today. It's nice that he's running around trying to find technicalities to use in court, when he could invoke the authority of his office and address the issue directly. JEB, Get off your hands and stop asking if you can be Governor - take in the gaurd and do your job!

>>>This may sound grim, but I hope they do an autopsy of Terri to document the extent of her brain injury. This would help put to rest most of the disinformation about this case and shed light on who was telling the truth.>>>

That would be great, but Michael Schiavo has ordered (with Greer's backing) that she be cremated IMMEDIATELY after death.

You sound elated.

I saw no such elation in his post. Emotions are at an all time high and we see things that arent really there.

God bless Terri and may her suffering be minimal in such a horrible, inhumane way to die.
