I think he thought he had the votes for it to pass. 6 republicans sold him and Terri out.

I have been a little surprised to see him on TV so much when there were so many things to go over.

You me both.

Thanks. I hope you are being candid rather than kind. I really tried to pour my heart out in a pithy and cogent way, despite the interruptions and deflections of Mr. Hewitt.

Kennedy has to get the international consensus first.

Yeah, maybe he'll ask The Vatican what they think. </sarcasm>

If Boies is a "fine lawyer", then Ted Olson is a G-d.

No, I thought you were good, your intensity reflected very well the urgency in this matter and frankly I thought that Hewitt was a little too laid back, almost suggesting that any old pleading would be ok. You were right and he was wrong.
I still like his show.

That about sums it up. Olson's brief to SCOTUS was one of the finest legal documents I have ever had the pleasure to read. It was sort of like listening to Brahams 4th symphony conducted by Klemperer, which even though recorded in only mono, is still akin to a religious experience for this near atheist to listen too.

It's time to withhold hydration and food from the federal government. The judicial branch in particular.

The Iran and Iraqi governments should offer to send advisers to counsel congress about humane treatment of citizens. I hope they pick up the ball and make an offer to do so.

Wow. That is a foolish comparison. Jeb isn't running for President. Period. He has made his attitude about it quite well known, just as Hill has made her intentions to run quite known. If you refuse to believe him, that is not Jeb's fault.

Then its time to get a new pitcher in there.

feel free. You go down there and put action to words.

"Meet you here tomorrow to see who is right."

In the mean time, perhaps you can pass the time throwing dice. You have dehumanized the young woman to the point that you make sport as she endures her passion. An intrinsically immoral (evil) act isn't scrubbed by the review of 20 judges.

I do think Jeb will run, but you are right, without Jeb she would have died years ago. God bless you for making this statement.

He may, I'm not in a position to make that judgement on its legal merit. I can only state IF God wishes Jeb to do as some are screaming, he'll make it known to Jeb personally. Otherwise, I assume events play out as He has willed.

Thanks for your post. Do you think that there is a line of argument which could be brought forward that could result in a replacement of Terri's feeding tube while further investigation is made, but that this argument has not thus far been effectively presented to the courts?

No I am not talking about the legislation. I am talking about the presser when Jeb came out with some lawyer or head of the DCF stating they had the right to get Terri.

Glad we agree on Olson, he is the best, although I don't know if I would compare him or any lawyer to Brahms or Klemperer. I'm glad you still get so much gratification through your work as a lawyer, though!

This is correct. Takes four to hear a case. If they can get Sandra, we're in.

Olson, how about him, can't "W" give him a call and say how about a little pro bono.
Are they appealiing the restraining order.Maybe that could be successful, clear up the restraining order,DCF swoops in and we figure it all out a little later.

Another excellent post. I do hope Jeb things about 08. he's the only potential candidate so far that really excites me. Maybe one of theother Governors will. Santorum or my senator Brownback would be great, but I doubt they have a prayer.

I've been praying for days that someone like Ted Olsen would step up and offer to help. Of course, who knows, maybe all kinds of offers have been made....even tonight, Steve Centani from Fox was reading from the legal papers filed with the Supreme Court and making the point that they appear to have been done in a hurry and pointed out errors in them. Prayers being sent up for Terri.
