TAMPA, Fla. (AP) A lawyer for Terri Schiavo's parents says an appeal to try to keep the brain-damaged woman alive has been filed with the U.S. Supreme Court.
"Does the DCF need a parents permission before going in and dragging a scared kid out of the house based on some specious charge of so-called 'child abuse' ? Permission has NEVER been an issue in thousands of cases like that !"
I thought the same thing! SOMEBODY needs to rescue Terri and then let the fallout happen. If she were my daughter, I would have "stolen her" years ago. I wonder if her parents have ever thought about that. Not that I'm critizing them, I'm not, I'm sure they never saw this coming and were trying to do it lawfully. Hindsite 20/20.
I guess I'm stunned and sickend at the situation. I pray for Terri and her family, friends and supporters.
If I hear it called the "Terri Schiavo right-to-die case" one more time I'm going to hurl.
MS has done everything short of smothering her with a pillow and I wouldn't put that past him either.
True, however we are cleaning up shop, but in this case the time needed to clean up shop is a moot subject for time is not available.
True.
I think the possibility of stem cell treatment sometime in the next decade (that didn't even exist in 1990) is grounds alone for believing her "wishes" are based on a false premise- and overturning the judgement.
Anyone who wishes someone else to be damned to hell, particularly Terri, is a repugnant creep.
How come FNC is labeling the gathering crowd as "protesters," with Hannity on the air. How come they're not "supporters?"

BTW, My prediction is that the SCOTUS will hear this case and Terri's feeding tube will be reinserted by this time tomorrow night
Seriously..."protester" of what? Death? Is that a bad thing?
I have an uncle with Alzheimers that does not know nite from day and hasn't for years....
Would it be OK to starve him to death?
I know exactly how you feel.
Agreed.

and the Pope!
and Abe Vigoda and Dick Clark for living past humanly possible ages (well, seeming to!)
It is my prayer they move her to Walter Reed for the best care and evaluation.. She deserves it..
From your computer to G-d's ear!!!!!!!!!! I would prefer executive action, but I'll take this. Not optimistic, but I would sure be happy if you're right.
You think Jeb needs to seize Terri? Maybe he could swing by on his way home from work and pick her up. Sheesh.
The Governor is not empowered with the ability to seize his constituents. Yet.
Exactly. The disabled in America should be screaming bloody murder at the top of their lungs right now. The precident set by this case is as bad as Roe v Wade.
"BTW, My prediction is that the SCOTUS will hear this case and Terri's feeding tube will be reinserted by this time tomorrow night"
I hope you are right!!!!
Thanks - and I love YOUR screen name (GREAT movie!!)
