A state judge issued an emergency order Wednesday to keep the Department of Children & Families from taking any action that would reconnect Terri Schiavos feeding tube. George Felos, the attorney for Michael Schiavo, asked Pinellas Circuit Judge George Greer to issue the order Wednesday while the judge considers a request from DCF and Gov. Bush to take custody of Terri Schiavo.

This may explain the delay.

I think Greer is dirty as hell and needs Terri dead to cover up corruption.

Yeah, but then you would have to live there. Are you sure you want to take that chance?

I heard on Fox (Pat Boone was the guest) that when the paramedics came to help her when the heart problem happened, they did not like what they saw and called the police. Then, later broken bones were found. Could this explain why speech therapy was not sought.... but death is???

I think this is the beginning of the fight to take back our Country from the judicial branch who now make themselves all powerful.

What is really wierd about this whole thing is Greer's intense motivation to torture and murder this woman, while there is so much doubt about her true condition, and the motivations of her 'husband' who has an intense, buring desire to see her dead.
It's actually worse than that. Greer has studiously ignored standard judicial procedure to examine compelling new information that has been presented to him that Terri is NOT PVS and that Michael has abused her.
In concert with current judicial practice, the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals simply ruled on Greer's ruling rather than consider the evidence available in the case.
There has never been a case that demonstrates more convincingly that the courts are out of control and have placed themselves above the "equal but separate" provision of the Constutution.
FWIW, I place my money on Gov. Bush and the FDLE, FHP and FL Nat. Guard over Judge Greer's . . . . uh, . . . . gavel?

BTW - Are judges elected or able to be recalled in Florida?
If so, I'll send $100(Which I don't even have, but will find somewhere) to support any legit effort to take him out.

My understanding is that as chief executor, the Governor controls all the LEOs, especially in emergency situations, such as if he orders a directive for the DCF to move in and take Terri out. This is the only procedural way to avoid a "shootout" between local and state police. Also, it was my understanding that state police had authority over local police in state issues, for which this situation would qualify.
No? Yes? Sources for further information/confirmation?

I agree...do it now, Jeb.

The executive cannot take custody nor remove the person without a court order. THAT is in the law.
Parenthetically, it was probably designed that way by the legislature to preclude overreaching by social workers.

Did anybody hear that fat state Senator say, "to those of you who don't live in Florida who have been e-mailing me, STOP. I DO NOT CARE!" What a creep. This transcends state boundaries. This is a matter of human decency vs. barbarism in its purest form. What is the name?!

Yes, I still believe in the system of law. But I also know that there are people on this earth with an exaggerated sense of self-inportance. Greer's ignoring the US Congress, and "enjoining" the state government to prevent them from executing the law is a sign of a dangerously insane judge. This isn't the first time this has happened, it's just we are all seeing it now. Greer is toast...

How is he going to enforce it?Send in the National Guard to get her, and shoot to kill anyone who tries to step in the way.
I know... I know... let's not kill anyone, but I am so damned sick to death with the courts playing God, and not seeing the damned evidence in front of them.
Pontius Pilate would be proud!

read the law for emergency protection. He can take her into custody and then petition the judge. He has to do it in the middle of the night.
To: CyberAnt
The answer would have been to take her, and then just have Bush have troops around where she's held, and dare Greer to make them. If Bush has any loyalty with state troops, it could work.
I wish Pres Bush would also do something about this.
To: verity
You appear to be reading the Non-Emergency section.
Read the Emergency section of the law.
No court approval needed prior to removal. It's in black and white if you read the law.
