Jeb Bush Renews Call to Help schiavo

PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (AP) - Their options dwindling after two failed federal court appeals, Terri Schiavo's parents and brother vowed Wednesday to take their fight to the U.S. Supreme Court and state Legislature as the brain-damaged woman was in her fifth day without a feeding tube.

Gov. Jeb Bush renewed his call for the Legislature to step in and ``spare Terri's life.''

In a 2-1 ruling early Wednesday, a panel of the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta said the parents, who have battled with son-in-law Michael Schiavo for years over the woman's fate, ``failed to demonstrate a substantial case on the merits of any of their claims'' that the feeding tube should be reinserted immediately.

``There is no denying the absolute tragedy that has befallen Mrs. Schiavo,'' the ruling by Judges Ed Carnes and Frank M. Hull said. ``We all have our own family, our own loved ones, and our own children. However, we are called upon to make a collective, objective decision concerning a question of law.''

"Would you want to be kept alive in this state? I wouldn't, in fact I've told my wife on numerous occasions, that if I were ever in a vegetative state, to please pull the plug"

And since "I" would rather be dead than spend life in prison, I guess it would be OK just to kill those folks in jail. Correction... We shouldn't actually kill them, just cut off their food and water and let them die naturally.

Unless Florida's constitution is very out of whack, Jeb Bush or the Attorney General of Florida can establish an investigation of Michael Schiavo, for attempted murder and demand that a living Terri Schiavo be a part of the investigation.

************

I don't know what Governor Bush can or cannot do, but I believe it can only help if we send emails or call his office.

Hey! There's an idea! Dred Scott! All we need now is for some violence to break out, have Bush save her life with a stroke of a pen, and then hundreds of thousands of dead later, we'll all be united again, and Terri will have been saved!

Yeah! Woo!

Governor Bush or President Bush...

PLEASE use your EXECUTIVE ORDER powers to at least put an I-V in this woman to stabilize her fluids until the Supreme Court has a chance to rule on this appeal

The following is the letter I sent to Governor Bush.

Dear Governor Bush,

Horrified is the only word I can express in my deep shock over what is occurring in your state. My family (four individual families) have made the decision that we can no longer visit or vacation in your state if Terri dies because the Judicial System, Legislature and Law Force Agencies have not protected her, but fought diligently to kill her.

Three nurses and 33 doctors have signed affidavits that Terri is being misrepresented as being in a vegetative state. One nurse testified that she went to the police who refused to act on her charge that Terri's husband was trying to murder her with overdosing her with insulin. Because Terri is retarded, your state has turned your backs on her and classified her as not worth being afforded protection by the police, except to arrest people who are trying to save her life.

Florida represents death to our family. How could we ever go to your state again for recreation and amusement where it is the past home of this handicapped woman was afforded less compassion and worth than a stray dog? As her estranged husband scatters her cremated ashes in the land of Florida it will bring death to all who care about life. We will turn our backs on your state as your state turned your back on Terri.

Not only has your state turned your back on aiding the handicapped, your state has now created an open season on all handicapped people who can't speak or advocate for themselves. The future of this nation protecting the handicapped is now in jeopardy as the country now turns to target all severely handicapped persons with the same 'quality of life' as Terri.

You are governor. Go be with Terri while she dies. Look in her eyes and meditate that this is your state.

There's reasonable suspicion of wrongdoing/criminality in this case and someone's life is in jeopardy. Is it against the law in those circumstances for Jeb Bush to put her into protective custody until this thing can be sorted out?

Wow, such wit, I am astounded!

You missed the point entirely. Just because something is the law, doesn't make it right.

Oh, I guess you support Dred Scott. Sorry.

Dear Governor Bush,

Regarding the need to have a living Terri Schiavo, what part of the concept of preserving the victim and witness in an investigation of the crime of attempted murder, do you not understand?

If I recall correctly, the Emancipation Proclamation didn't require court action, in order for government to be considered valid.

Lincoln correctly realized that as President, he had no legal grounds to single-handedly terminate the institution of slavery--but that this had to be done by a constitutional amendment. The Emancipation Proclamation was simply a war powers action by him as the commander in chief of the armies in which he attempted to remove all the slaves from the southern peoples "in rebellion against the United States.” Even in this, Lincoln was very anxious about the legality of his actions. He worded the document very carefully, in legal terms, in his attempt to make it legally binding in future courts of law.

He recognized that the Emancipation Proclamation would have to be followed quickly by a constitutional amendment in order to guarantee the abolishment of slavery.

Perhaps you need to listen to Kate Adamson!!!!She came back and is beautiful!!

I've met Kate, and her husband Steven -- I used to work at their church out here in Southern California. I remember when she had her stroke. I remember how her husband, and her church, prayed for a miracle, and God came through.

Unfortunately, God gets less respect in the eyes of the court (and liberalism) than a beached whale, a convicted murderer (over or under 18), and a terrorist detainee at Gitmo, Abu Graib. I think I know Who'll get the last word...

I am saying that you don't ask the President or the Governor to go outside the law but to work within the framework of the Constitution and the laws of the land which they have done.

I think Judge Greer is despicable but I am asking now if he had all the facts that have come out in the last week like the affidavits from these nurses who are now on the talk shows? Did the lawyers for the family let Terri down?

We have not stood quietly by -- we have made our voices heard but you cannot take the law into your own hands in this instance. The time to get her out of that facility was sometime ago when her family realized what was happening.

I want answers why this was allowed to get this far -- everytime I read something new, I have to ask why it wasn't brought out before? I do not want the President or the Governor to break the laws of this Nation -- end of story. Our Nation was founded on laws and over the years some have been good and others bad but we have to learn to work within the system.

Why didn't these nurses come forward earlier? Ask yourself that question! Maybe if they had, the DCF could have taken over control in Florida if they had the necessary evidence to act.

Those nurses did come forth earlier, as early as 2003, even earlier, I believe. They were ignored by the court and the media!
