I wrote this to a FReeper earlier. She was feeling much frustration with many here I believe because of what was, in her mind, a careless disregard for morality and the well-being of an innocent and quite defenseless girl, Terri Schiavo.
The intelligent and good FReeper was at the point of wanting to leave FR. So I wrote her:
*****
Don't go, please. You're one of the folks here with a real good heart and very strong feelings. That is a very good combination. Don't go ........
I'm getting a feeling (or a wish) that today (Wednesday) the Federal marshals or some others are going to take control of this abysmal situation. Unlike the Elian Gonzalez catastrophe, this will be for the good of a human being.
Maybe in the future it can be referred to as 'Good Wednesday'. Because the more I learn about this entire case, this girl has been done wrong since the very beginning and things must be righted. What is happening now must end....... well.
*********
I implore all who care about the wrongness of all this to contact the White House, contact anyone who could have something to do with getting action TODAY. There can not be any more wasted time and destruction of this innocent girl. If this husband is much of what we suspect, this matter should not be allowed to end in her death by these brutal means!
If now is not the time, then will there ever be a time...
Like I said before, I know at the very least the President should use his "bully pulpit" to speak out again against this murder, as could his brother.
I don't think that's too much to ask. IMHO
That is my hope (or wish) also.
However, I don't think it has to be federal marshals.
Since 'Judge' Greer refused to allow DCF (or whatever the state agency is called) to do an investigation into alleged abuse of Terri, I think Jeb Bush could legitimately send in state police to secure Terri and remove her to a hospital where the feeding tube could be reinserted.
The state moves in ALL THE TIME to remove custody of children and disabled people from possibly abusive caretakers.
Btw, DCF is going into Greer's court today to again "request" Terri's records, so they can determine if Michael Schiavo has been abusive of her. (Greer flat-out refused before.)
I hope this is a sign that Jeb Bush has a back-up plan, in the event a legislative solution fails.
I am advocating that we as Americans refuse to honour unjust laws.
I am saying that every American who loves freedom and who loves liberty has a solemn duty and a moral obligation to bring water and nourishment to Terri Schiavo.
The strength of nonviolence comes from our willingness to take personal risk without threatening other people.

Right on!
This is NOT meant to be frivolous, but imagine if Michael Jackson blew off court today, jumped on a plane to Florida, and showed up outside the hospice, held a presser, and said that he just had to be there to "save Terri".. go ahead, think about it...
Yes.
But if all the FR posts (no matter how many they be) and all the efforts of the GWB, "Most Powerful Man in the World", a Congressional majority, and the Republican Judical appointees cannot save one innocent woman from execution then what good is it.
Sometime you must leap beyond logic and trust in God (not that God is illogical, but rarely does man comprehend, through logic, Gods will). Save this Woman! It is more than just her life at stake here. This is the War that gets the least media attention, the war that has raged since the beginning of creation, that between good and evil, life and death, those that follow God or those that follow Satan.
I say try it anyhow. God, what's the big deal?
I am glad I wasn't eating breakfast when you made the suggestion about Michael Jackson going to Florida--LOL
I am afraid if he went there and somehow got in to see Terri, he would prolly scare her to death!!!
I don't mean to be flip at a time like this, but the visual of your suggestion just made me LOL!
As far as a "celebrity"--how about BONO, he seems to be the "celebrity of the poor and afflicted"--
Perhaps I got the name wrong, the Schindler's attorney.
This is very close to the picture that was on the cover of Newsweek. I never could get a copy of that picture in electronic form to post. I have always thought that the expression on the female agent's face (her name is Betty something) was the epitome of pure evil. It's no wonder that poor Elian was hysterical!
Those agents were not reprimanded for their illegal acts. They were commended and promoted!
All that said, our thoughts today should be turned toward Terri and what we can do to save her.
I would suggest a prayer service in a church, a demand that this all be looked at, screaming for an investigation.
Now this is in the realm of the courts for better or worse.
What the public does best is make noise, demand investigations, sleuth and uncover facts.
Bearing water at a heavily guarded hospice is a meaningless gesture if you ask me. And maybe there would be inciting of violence. No way is that helping a damn thing.
I hate to tell you this, but there will be no autopsy and no funeral. Her "husband" has dictated immediate cremation, which incidentally is against her Catholic faith.
President Bush has spoken out in favoring of saving Terri.
Any one that leaves the Republican Party over this issue, is just not thinking clearly. At least we have a chance, but if you change parties, you are just giving the other side free reign.
How in the world do you know that?
I say about 5000 people outside of Terri's building bearing water in all sorts of containers might just get some needed attention by the SICK, lying media.
Why do you think all these insane polls still proclaim that a majority of citizens want the tube pulled?
I say, bring on the crowd (mob)!
Catholics tell me cremationis okay but the ashes have to be interred, not scattered. I remember there was a flap when ashes from the John Kennedy crash were scattered.
At any rate, the problem, the core of this is Rusty's continued guardianship of Terri. If that could have been changed, we would not be here.
Why not use both---there is no reason that we as Freepers should give up, or not pray to God---
Remember (not literally) the Boston Tea Party? Civil disobedience---how about the marches in the 60's for the rights of black?
Bush might not even be President right now if weren't for FR---remember the Rathergate---
I don't think even Jesus would just lay down and pray, as long as there was something additional that could be done to save someone--
With all of the great minds and even bigger hearts here on FR, we just have to through out ideas, no matter how "long shot", to try to find a way--
I am of a mind that this whole tragedy has become much more that just a fight for Terri's life, but a fight for the values and humanity of our Country---we just cannot let this country keep going the way it is regarding this subject, gay marriage, partial-birth abortion, etc.
"Any one that leaves the Republican Party over this issue, is just not thinking clearly. At least we have a chance, but if you change parties, you are just giving the other side free reign."
I never said anything about changing parties. Perhaps you're thinking of another poster.
