Da da da... Dats All Folks!
Gee. There was actually one human being found on that court. In the minority of course.
The Judicial Branch should be proud. They have convinced themselves of objectively ruling on the law. They can join the doctors who pride themselves on successful operations where the patient died.
Judge Wilson's dissent leaves some hope.
Pray for her!
How quickly can Congress get back to DC?
I think the first question and only question should be is Terri a PVS case?(persistent vegetative state ).If she is not than this is murder.
I think the problem with the Liberals go to the separation of powers clause .And also this might hurt there argument about abortion, imagine saving someones life. And finally because Republicans are for it than the liberalsknee jerk reaction is to be against it.
Again the liberals don't know the difference between right and wrong.
Idiots. They admit Congress' intent is for the case to reheard from scratch, yet they say the likelihood for Theresa's "victory" is low. How can they say that? The intent is that the case has not been heard. They forgot the Constitutional mandate of the fifth Amendment --- nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law. Due process has not been met until the case has been reheard at the federal level.
My email just sent to President Bush: president@whitehouse.gov
Hello President Bush,
Here are a couple ideas to save Terri Schaivo.
1) I wonder what would happen if you went to visit Terri with the Secret Service in tow and decided to take her to a safe haven aboard Air Force One. I don't think any Florida law enforcement personnel (God Bless Them) would stand in your way. This may be the only remaining hope.
2) The Vatican has come out pretty strongly in opposition to her execution. I wonder if anyone over there has considered naming Terri a diplomat or special envoy. That might well kick the authority to order the reattachment of her feeding tube to the State Department.
thanks,
Tony in Boulder, Colorado

This can now be appealed to the entire 11th as a whole, right? Or is that up to the three-judge panel to direct?
I can translate this decision out of Atlanta into just a few words:
We are no longer a nation of laws. We are now ruled by judges who are free to decree who shall live, and who shall die, and their decisions are final.
These judges have not only affirmed the death of Terri Schiavo, they have confirmed the death of our Republic.
I would ordinarily say 'May God have Mercy upon us', but I fear that He will do no such thing now.
America is toast.
This really hurts. Yes it can be appealed and it was a very strong descension, but no one thinks the Supreme Court will hear it, but it's not over till it's over.
The U.S. Justice Dept is in the middle of this deal with both feet, and options still exist.........
Why can't Terri's parents file a lawsuit against Michael Shaivo charging that he neglected his wife by not providing her proper therapy and treatment (or lawsuit for anything relating to Terri). Then they can go to the court and ask that Terri who is the prime witness in the case against Michael be protected as a witness? That should at least buy more time...
Have they really looked deep into the case and delved into what really is the situation? That Federal Judge in Florida, did he really look and read all the transcripts to make an honest decision. With the time he allocated, it is not possible for any one judge to really get acquainted to all the facts.
Then you have the 3 judge panel, did they do the same? What good is an appeals court if that court does not consider all the facts - and just limit themselves to perhaps what the trial court had summarized.
In my book that is not an appeals court. Maybe that's what our court system is all about just look and consider what they want to see.
I believe it is about time that the Senate exercises its "advice and consent" function which have been missing so far when regards to the judiciary. The constitution does not state that the advice and consent function should deal only with the executive branch.
Of course the liberals will complain bitterly, when the Senate exercises this function. There is a dying woman who deserves her day in court and that is not being provided.
Is there a lawyer in the house who can shed some clarification on this?
it DID??
