Tonight it is, March 22, 2005, over five days since Theresa Marie Schiavo commenced her ordeal of purposeful and legally sanctioned dehydration and starvation. We await a decision from the three judge panel from Eleventh Judicial Circuit as to her fate, as her family struggles with seeing Terri's physical health deteriorate.
Well the President could just say that he has the legal authority to rescue Terri, as Reagan did in Grenada with those medical students in 1983. He could cite "take care that the laws be faithfully executed" for his justification. But it takes courage to act.
Whew! Took me forever to find it -- buried three pages deep, at least!
Haven't you read the statutes that give the authority?
Free speech doesnt' hinge on the agreement of others. You will bail out of the fight cause you don't agree?
Time for me to leave for a bit, do a chore or two and PRAY!
Wonderful scripture for such a difficult day. Jesus said that we should pray for ourselves and our children in this dark day too.
How is possible that people keep ignoring the huge amounts of conflict of interest, which involve all those trying to kill Terri?
"Whoever lives in an open state of adultery shall be guilty of a misdemeanor of the second degree, punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or s. 775.083." Reportedly, punishment for a misdemeanor of the second degree can be up to 60 days imprisonment.
If Jeb Bush really wants to help Terri, why doesn't he direct Florida law enforcement to arrest Michael Shiavo under this standard and while he is in jail (even overnight before the bail hearing) have, or petition to have, a new guardian appointed, perhaps on the basis that Michael can't do the job in jail or must be replaced because of the criminal charges?
I don't know how new guardians are chosen but would think her parents are the logical alternative and they would direct her to be fed and given water again.
That's why I put Christian in quotation marks. Actions speak louder than words.
Read it. Quickly. It'll change your life for the better. We did a study of it at church, and I've profited greatly. And so has our church!
Fox showing the 1st protester that is going to be arrested trying to take water to Terri....she's 70 years old
As do I. Or we're seeing played out in real life Chaucer's Troilus and Criseyde.
OhioWfan,
I agree with you that what Gov. and Pres. Bush have done thusfar is unprecedented. And God bless them for being on the side of life.
However....IF Terri dies it will most certainly appear to the entire WORLD, that Gov. Bush and Pres. Bush were not able in this Land of the Free and home of the Brave, to save ONE helpless woman.
How can we rescue entire countries from tyranny and yet *possibly* show the world that our President is HELPLESS to save this one life?
THE WORLD IS WATCHING.
President Bush, please act now.
These people here play hardball and Terri could have been placed in protective custody any time in the past 2 years. Who has the authority to do that? Governor Bush. He won't do it though imo. IF TERRI WAS GOING TO BE SAVED, THERE WOULD BE THREE AMBULANCES AT THE READY AT HOSPICE WITH THE ENGINES RUNNING. There are no ambulances at the ready, only major police presence.
Nothing backfired. King was against Terri all along. He had to be goaded into supporting the first Terri bill because he was afraid of losing his cushy 'job'. I wonder how much his financial well being went up after authoring the 'right-to-die' legislation being that he sits on the board of a hospice.
I was letting FOX News put me to sleep when I heard that.
So horriically sad.
Now I have to check the Atlanta situation.
In addition, PLEASE call Governor Jeb Bush's office NOW at
850-488-4441, asking him to exercise the executive powers
he ALREADY HAS, and take custody of Terri Schiavo to save
her from being starved to death.
We've got renowned lawyer
Larry Klayman coming in on Wednesday to meet one-on-one
with Gov. Bush's General Counsel lawyers, showing them
point-by-point exactly why the Governor DOES have those
powers right NOW. Call Gov. Bush and ask him to USE those
powers to save Terri's life.

I came to this thread in support of Terri, and not to read false accusations that this situation is Jeb Bush's fault.
Respect my right to leave this thread. Just know that I can't be the only one, and you most likely will lose the support of many others..... TERRI won't lose our support, but you will.
Judge Charles Wilson, appointed to the 11th Circuit on July 30, 1999 by Bill Clinton was the one decenter on the 3 judge panel denying Terri the right to live. I was surprised. He stated in his decent that the panel did not take into account of the new law passed by the U.S. Congress and signed by the President.
