Tonight it is, March 22, 2005, over five days since Theresa Marie Schiavo commenced her ordeal of purposeful and legally sanctioned dehydration and starvation. We await a decision from the three judge panel from Eleventh Judicial Circuit as to her fate, as her family struggles with seeing Terri's physical health deteriorate.
Amen to your prayer, Wampus.
We sound alot alike. :)
Thousands of others have starved or thirsted and survived in an epidemic so widespread that nearly a quarter of the nursing home patients wheeled into hospitals for treatment each year show up malnourished or dehydrated, according to hospital records.
These conditions can undermine even the most advanced medical care by destroying the body's ability to fight off other illnesses.
"There's no reason for anybody to die from dehydration, especially in a nursing home. No reason but gross neglect," said Caryl Conway, a former nurse whose grandmother, Arcenia Magee, died from dehydration after a year in a Detroit nursing home.
Relatives contend Magee would have survived had her caretakers noticed sooner how dehydrated she had become.
But by the time Magee, 85, was admitted to Providence Hospital in Southfield in the summer of 1999, doctors calculated her body was missing 9 liters of water -- about 2 1/2 gallons -- and had begun to simply shut down, court records show.
The next night, Magee died from dehydration
..................
Since 1987, federal law has specifically required nursing homes to head off malnutrition and dehydration. Homes must closely monitor a patient's condition and ensure those who cannot eat on their own get enough help.

And they need to be prayed for.
I am still hoping that GWB comes through, he is a born again Christian and lives and governs so much by the Word of God, it will be wrong of him to not help her, so my eyes are on him now.
God bless this girl. I fasted for two days during the election and thought I was gonna pass out.
They are just going to keep stalling and stalling until Terri is gone. This is a joke. They think we are really stupid.
I figured they would go against Terri being "allowed" to live when they didn't come out after the first 15 minutes and say she should be re-hydrated. They'd have to be brain dead not to realize that she has to live to be able to have her case heard, and the more time that goes by the less chance she will live. What a bunch of sick cold-blooded monsters.
You know this is going to go down in history as a stain on our nation. This is the worst thing I have ever seen. In fact, I was trying to think of anything as bad as this. I came up with OJ ,but, even that case was heard by a jury and OJ was present in court.
A completely innocent, disabled woman is being starved to death right in front of the eyes of the world, on the orders of an obviously-conflicted judge . People are being arrested for trying to bring her a cup of water! Her parents are searched and watched by the police to make sure they can't help her! Even to put ice on her lips. This is a sick, vile, disgusting evil!
The question for you politicians and lawyers is:
Are you going to go down in history as the people who stood by and did nothing, while a totally innocent family were terrorized by a corrupt judge and forced to watch their helpless disabled daughter be starved to death ?
You and I know that Terri crossed the threshold a long time ago regarding being CAGED, ABUSED, NEGLECTED AND THEY JUST WANT TO MURDER HER IN COLD BLOOD. Screw ALL JUDGES.
Why are there no "emoticons" for -spitting-?
"Is it true that a couple of days ago, 3 Florida senators were need to pass SB 2128, and now there is only 1?
Maybe Florida will come through?
It is true and we still have that hope"
Is it true Judge Greer can still rule against it, even if it passes?
Thank you for being here.
We were talking about that earlier when we were discussing dumping tea into the Tampa Bay.
She should have had a jury of her peers decide this as per her right, she is being condemned to death just like a crimianl and they get that right. Terri would not lose if she had a jury.
Is it true Judge Greer can still rule against it, even if it passes?
This I am not sure about
My feeling is that President Bush will not save Terri from this cruel death because he doen't want to circumvent the court system. The laws are supposed to protect the lives of innocent people. Instead, the laws are being used to murder the disabled.
God Help us, and Strengthen us, and our Sweet, Sweet Terri. Dear Amdgmary, I'm Devastated

and I am hoping he will do it as to not circumvent his Maker.
Senator James King vowed to kill the bill along with about 6 other Florida senators. The bill is scheduled to be voted on later today, but will have a difficult time passing. I don't have any hope for this bill.
Terri's eyes are sunken, her lips are cracking, stuff like that in America. AN INNOCENT WOMAN IS BEING STARVED AND DEHYDRATED TO DEATH BY THE STATE OF FLORIDA. FLORIDA KILLS.
OK, so I'm guessing the whole 11th circuit court had to know this was the possible outcome and that they'd all end up involved. I wonder if they were getting up to speed on any of this today or do we have to wait all bleedin day tommorrow again?
When Pollywog (I think) said this was a "Red Sea" experience, she wasn't kidding.
