[history]
Tonight it is, March 22, 2005, over five days since Theresa Marie Schiavo commenced her ordeal of purposeful and legally sanctioned dehydration and starvation. We await a decision from the three judge panel from Eleventh Judicial Circuit as to her fate, as her family struggles with seeing Terri's physical health deteriorate.

If you're on the East coast watch Cavuto on Fox right now. A woman once in a similar state as Schiavo is now, is being interviewed. She looks hale and hearty and the picture of lucidity.>>>>
Yeah I just caught that replay with Kate Adamson.
She looks so vibrant !

In the blink of an eye, your life can change forever.......Kate's did. An active 33 year old with two small toddlers was struck down by a double brain-stem stroke leaving her paralyzed from the neck down. Kate was trapped inside her body unable to communicate with the outside world. Her only means of communication was the alphabet, blinking out one letter at a time.

Well, thank you! I am tired!... your link to the CSI blog was right there in front of my face.

WOW -- was that a document that was given to her already prepared, or did she dictate her precise wishes? I can see now that what I thought were clear wishes have to be amended .. dear God. I would love to know exactly what it says, if you would not be opposed to sharing ... that's mind boggling.

She's not old enough for Medicare
I beg to differ. She's permanently disabled and under hospice care. She doubly qualifies for medicare. I also have no problem paying for Terri's treatment. I just bring this particular tidbit of information up when people say, "it's a personal family matter". Not if I'm paying for her care, it isn't! As long as she is on the public dime, I have a right to be interested in her care and treatment.

I hope we'll really be singing soon.

I was thinking about The Gipper a while ago, too. Nancy cared for him for a long time when he did/did not know her anymore. Caring for an Alzheimer's patient is a hard, hard thing.

I'm not a legal expert but I think it means an appeal to have the entire 11th circuit Court hear the case. Right now only three have.

We ended up having to choose between a legal travesty on the one hand and human tragedy on the other.
Mort sums it up there. Hobsons choice for certain.

I'm tired too. I haven't been able to drag myself away from the computer for 3 days.

To focus on Michael is to miss the bus.
He is the pawn. Terri is the pawn. Focus on the players, and the prize.

You are right...so you can consider your self a bit of a legal expert ;)

Why is it that at least 4 policemen stand guard at a hospice for Terri? Why can MS go into her room and lock the door? How is it that an insulin vial and apparent injection is simply left uninvestigated and no charges brought?None of it makes the least bit of sense. And Terri's family have to go through 15 minutes of procedures before they can be allowed to pass through all the security lines to see her, her sister said tonight. It's so twisted it defies belief.
To: Eternagon
Interesting that MS brought up the fact she "wouldn't want to live that way" a full 7 years after her "accident".
Took him a while to think of it, didn't it?

This Is How It Starts
The scene is wrapped in a spiritual fog
With snarling german shepherd dogs
Barricades and armed guards
For any who dare to think
Of entering that yard
Inside, a helpless woman
To them, a 'useless eater'
Not worth a drop of water
They won't even feed her
Nazi Germany
In nineteen-thirty-eight?
No
Pinellas Park
Florida
Today
'Woodside' isn't a merciful 'Hospice'
God help us all
It's more like a well-landscaped Auchwitz

Ah the joy of being morally relative!
What's right for me may not be right for you and what's right for me may not be right for you. Nothing like timeless absolutes in your life. LOL! You expose what's wrong with people.
THERE ARE ABSOLUTES OUT THERE!
Murdering someone for being handicapped is WRONG.

Gee I thought all the Right to Die people are espousing the painlessness of death by dehydration.

That is the most poignant prayer, yet.
Can you please give Chapter and Verse?
To: Eternagon
What if you were in interminable torturous pain? and why would you want to be alive when you could go on to Heaven or something like that? Well, if God wanted me in heaven I'd be going. But it's not up to me.
