Loving Husband trying to do the right thing
Some comination of the above 2
Thanks.
And he's lucky that someone thought to offer him $1 million to walk away, when it would've been cheaper and easier to ... well, I don't want to put it in print. That would be wrong.
TS
While it won't help Terri, I'm pinging the list in case you'd like to vote. It could be a great stress reliever.
Terri ping! If anyone would like to be added to or removed from my Terri ping list, please let me know by FReepmail!

How would you describe Howie Carr?
I think you are oversimplying Howie's position, something that is generally hard to do. He believes that she is "not going to get better" (guess what, neither am I going to get any better, but please don't kill me) and apparently has bought in to the persistent vegative state jive.
I agree, Howie seems willfully ill-informed about this case.
I, myself, think the Florida courts are right on the law, wrong on the facts. In Catholic school they taught us that we are under no obliglation to take extraordinary steps to prolong life. ("Extraordinary" is up to the beholder, I suppose.) I am not convinced that Terry will not get better, given a chance, nor am I convinced that any of the means used to keep her alive are necessarily extraordinary.
Bastards can't help to whom they are born.
I hate that they used the word "American," but of the 3 choices, that one was the closest to being accurate. Any description that was truly accurate would be too obscene to post on the Internet.
Michael Schiavo is a white male, in his forties, 6'-3" to 6'-6" tall (depending on the story) and weighs about 250-pounds.
He is hated by many people. These people have read accusations made against him, some which may be true, and some which may be not.
In either case, in one word? LOSER!

Lead candidate for the Scott Peterson award for devoted husbandry.
Yeah. I forgot that part. "It's expensive, and she's not going to get better, so it's okay to kill her."
As a legal matter, I say the decision is hers, and when there is a doubt as to her wishes, the default is to keep her alive. Especially in this case, because the medical measures are modest.
As a moral matter, I wouldn't kill myself. Not quickly, not by exposure to the elements, and certainly not by starvation. And I don't anybody pulling one of those stunts on me either!
An odd blend of unprincipled libertarian and big government pragmatist. I get the impression that he is highly skeptical of government solutions, but figgers that since we are going to get big government anyway, we might as well make it work to our advantage.
Strongly opposed to illegal immigration and strongly in favor of severely limiting legal immigration from the third world.
Like a lot of wordsmiths, he's scientifically and technically illiterate.
Divorced once, married twice, five daughters, no sons.
Locally he's a gadfly, a thorn in the side of the Massachusetts liberal establishment. When Barnacle was fired from the Globe, he jortled, "A boil on the rear of Boston journalism has been lanced."
He plays himself in the movie, "A Civil Action", and gets periodic residual checks, as he's quick to point out.
A mucker!
Carr can be a funny guy sometimes and I probably agree with him on most things, but also he is likely the most insensitive person that I have ever seen in the media.
LOL, bump!
Fried clam lovin' fat bastard!
