Schiavo 'fading quickly,' parents tell court

TAMPA, Fla. - Warning that Terri Schiavo is "fading quickly," her parents begged a federal appeals court Tuesday to order the severely brain-damaged woman's feeding tube reinserted while they pursue claims that her rights are being violated.

David Gibbs III, attorney for parents Bob and Mary Schindler, told the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta that their 41-year-old daughter might die before they get a chance to fully argue their case. The appeal came after a federal judge in Tampa rejected the parents' emergency request earlier Tuesday.

"Where, as here, death is imminent, it is hard to imagine more critical and exigent circumstances," Gibbs said in the appeal, filed electronically with the court. "Terri is fading quickly and her parents reasonably fear that her death is imminent."

If the President does the right thing and rescues Terri, there is NO CHANCE a Republican Congress will impeach him. The country would not stand for it, in my opinion.

I do not believe the Democrats would even touch it. They would be burned politically.

And the Republicans will gain seats in 2006 because of the enormous good will this will generate among the American people.

I believe he should. However he wants his Social Security reform plan and he needs the Democrats to do it. Getting back to the Democrats. They are desperate to regain power & WOULD attempt to impeach Bush.

President Bush and Jeb are both weenies, unworthy people who, when the need is most desperate, don't come through. Their careers will never recover from what's happening now to Terri. Republican and democrat parties have both lost ANY claim to moral authority. A pox on their houses forever.

I guess you can tell I'm ticked off. But I'm serious that the Republicans have had, and missed a historic opportunity to do the right thing. There are going to be consequences. I, for one, am looking for the appropriate action to see that power returns to the people, where it belongs. I don't think the GOP can get off its duff. The democrats are beneath slime, of course. What about the Floriduh legislators who said, in private, they wanted to vote for Terri, but didn't have the balls? Corrupt/contemptible people don't come any purer than they.
