Warning that Terri Schiavo is "fading quickly," her parents begged a federal appeals court Tuesday to order the severely brain-damaged woman's feeding tube reinserted while they pursue claims that her rights are being violated.

Thank you, Nick, for the explanation. I had wondered why the parents' lawyer didn't present some of the testimony of the nurses, who had been in contact with Terri. As I understand there have not been any pictures or videos of her for 2-3 years. I wonder if the X-rays taken when she was first admitted were ever admitted into evidence. I too am afraid that the lawyer has made a fatal mistake. Hopefully, I'm wrong.

Poll today on Wall Street Journal (not a liberal rag) shows 70% saying that passing the law for Terry will hurt the Republicans. No good deed goes unpunished. Because most are uninformed on the issue.

Woman just arrested (per Drudge) for attempting to smuggle water into hospice.
Can you say jury nullification at any trial?

Clinton wouldn't have done that.
No, Clinton would not have done that. Did I forget my sarcasm tag?

This mess has more layers of issues than a dog has fleas.
If Terri's tube is not re-inserted, she will die, her family will grieve and We, the People will go on with our lives. Terri will become yet a distant memory by the time the next election rolls around.
No one will remember the Congressional Strut.
Schindlers? Who are they? "I'm not here to look at the past, only to the future."
BTW-Santorum coming up on Hannity. I wish Sean would ask him why they put Terri's parents through this and then stuck their fingers up their collective butts.

YESTERDAY, NORA WAS TOLD BY THE AGENCY SHE WORKS FOR, THAT WOODSIDE HOSPICE DID NOT WANT HER BACK WORKING AT THE FACILITY. NORA HAS BEEN WORKING THERE FOR TWO YEARS AS AN AGENCY NURSE. NORA HAD DISAGREED WITH THE STAFF ON SUNDAY WITH REGARD TO WHAT THEY WERE DOING TO TERRI. YESTERDAY, AT 3:30 PM SHE RECEIVED A CALL FROM HER AGENCY SAYING WOODSIDE HOSPICE DID NOT WANT HER BACK. I hope Nora knows what she's risking by doing this. If she breaches patient confidentiality, she risks losing her nursing license as well as she and the agency getting sued by Michael Schiavo.

Congress passed a law that said that you had to look at this caseNo, Rick, you did your best, but Sensenbrenner was right when he said that the Senate bill should have read "shall" instead of "may".

No, he's right. It's sad, but he's right. Look at how far so many have come in forgetting what happened on 9/11/01...
To: expatpat
I thought they changed it to "shall"?

You could be right, but I believe the House just voted on the Senate bill. Otherwise, the Senate would have had to come back to pass the House bill. A look at the text would resolve it, I guess.

I am angry. I do not think Congress passed this bill for political reasons, please do not misunderstand. I am tired and weary.
My reaction may be over the top, It may be unfair. It may be way out of line. But it is the result of the GOP letting us down again and again and again because they want to play nice.

Anyone heard anything about Michael Schiavo's lawyer having a presser at 5 pm EST?

Really? Then why doesn't he? Clinton does not have to be President to perform miracles... Why is this addressed to me? I didn't author the post this is in reply to, or the text you quoted.

I don't know. Got cross-ways I guess. Sorry if I disturbed you, usurped your privacy, or offended you in any way whatsoever.
I will try to be more careful in the future.

A three-judge panel at the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta received the case hours after U.S. District Judge James Whittemore in Tampa, Florida, refused the request of parents Bob and Mary Schindler to reinsert the tube. Three judges gives me more hope than one judge. ..

Those are encouraging words; thank you! I feel better about this appeal than about Whittemore.
Does the fact that Judge Greer is now her guardian factor?
