Just heard on Fox....so sad.
LOL. Thanks, Mod.
Cutting directly to the heart of the matter.
The kids are innocent.
All sin is on the father and mother.
Apples and oranges. We're talking about a dispute here that is being resolved lawfully and in the courts.
Good posts, Joanie, & Jeff.
A question to those who side with Mr Schiavo:
Who is Mr Schiavo more beholden to-
His invalid wife Terry Schiavo, or his fiancee Jodi Centonze, whom he lives with, and has fathered two children?
Mr. Schiavo has for all intents and purposes, remarried.
How can a man represent the best wishes of an ex-wife?
Schiavo's relationship to the other woman clearly constitutes bigamy, and is a breech of his marital vows.
Those who want Ms. Schiavo dead, and are supporting Mr. Schiavo on the premise that the Schiavo's marriage is still valid. In reality their marriage is a fraud. He no longer represent her best interests, and possibly never did.
I agree with you betty. Excellent essays by both Joanie & Jeff.
It is good to reflect in these times on the Word of God for our guidance. Those who follow after our God & Savior, Jesus Christ, take seriously the admonishment, "...in His law doth he meditate both day and night."
"Follow after holiness, without which no one shall see God." The holiness of God is separated from this world, so we who desire to "be holy as He is holy" will not easily follow the things of this world as pertaining to such a soul-wrenching case as that of Terri Schiavo. The wisdom of this world is foolishness with our God. And if that collective earthly wisdom points to such things as "right to die" and "following the law" and "upholding legal precedent," then we know a higher calling that requires us to search the Word of God about these things.
I am highly troubled in my spirit by this case, and I have learned from alamo-girl that one must listen to these possible promptings from our God, the Holy Spirit.
We must compare spiritual things with spiritual things. For me, that means I must reflect on what Jesus would say to this nation about Terri Schiavo if He were given a microphone and a media outlet.
In some manner, as he did with his friend, Lazarus, I'm convinced that Jesus would command: "Terri...come forth!"
good post
I find this whole thing appalling. Most Americans do not want Congress involved in this kind of an issue and neither do I.
Law enforcement officials certainly DO deal with WHAT IF'S! If a circumstance looks fishy, they most certainly DO deal with WHAT IF A CRIME HAS BEEN COMMITTED!
I just love these one line blurbs on here that have absolutely NOTHING to do with what the original poster said.
If you think for one second that this issue is a winner for the Left, you need to think again. If this woman dies, the political fallout will be felt for years to come.
No political party wants to be known as supportive of killing the disabled. No political party should be stupid enough to think that this particular issue is helpful in any way at all.
This issue is political dynamite. Leftists are simply too decadent and stupid to know better.

I am just so infuriated and frustrated about the way that the executive seems powerless to stand up to the black-robed mullahs. But, as I said, I guess my final opinion is that we are all belong to them.
I'm not convinced that would be the wrong result.
I am sure her husband will get his wish and Terri will die, as he has the legal standing to control her, but I still don't trust his motives by him failing to provide her with proper rehabilitation, by him not allowing Terri's infections to be treated, and by him abandoning her for another woman. The marital contract comes with responsibilites as well as rights. He wants all the rights to control Terri, but feels no obligation to abide by his marital vows. What is even more tragic is her best friend said that Terri wanted a divorce - I know that is heresay, but evidently heresay now passes as fact, at least when Michael and his relatives speak.
I would agree that loving spouses should have the last say in these situations. But Michael's affections lie with his fiancee, and I don't see him as one who has Terri's best interests at heart - I feel her family does. IMO, Michael stays married to her so he can control her - his affections lie with another woman. He wants all the power that comes with being her husband, but feels no obligation to fulfill the responsibilies that go with the marriage contract - a truly loving husband would. Legally, Michael has standing - morally, he doesn't - he's made a mockery of his marriage.
I stand corrected on the partial birth abortion as I don't think most people in this country agree with it, but the fact that some people do is disturbing and the more our society continues to devalue human life, I fear that number will increase - I hope I'm wrong. But you are right - the problem, for now, is mainly in the courts.
The legislature only allowed access to the federal courts. It is their JOB to be involved in this type of situation.
Due process required federal review. Well federal review is now taking place.
Congress is not involved. Saying Congress is involved is a democrat talking point. You might as well be stating that terri's case was unimportant because people are loosing their welfare rights while she starves.
What congress did carried no guarantee of a different result. If anything, the husband should have no problem re litigating his position in federal court as long as his ducks are all lined up.
FL law provides for the parents to litigate, this is what is happening.
If anything Michael's attorney felos and himself are to blame. Perhaps if he was more open. It may be a matter for common sense rather than legal sense.
