First, you might wonder why a PET scan has not been performed.

Probably because the husband knew that regardless of what the PET Scan showed, they would only serve as further fodder for more appeals.

No, because they change the goalposts of what they call a PVS to suit their purpose. If the glove don't fit you got to acquit.

Depends on whose definition of PVS you are using.

There are "death docs" who have a very elastic definition of PVS, when their agenda is "right to die uber alles" for the "lives not worthy of life." and other "useless feeders."

I think the best thing the parents can do is to have any kind of legal action that allows the court to restrain her husbands ability to let her starve to death. Proving he abandoned her would open the door to proving the parents were best able to provide proper care and guidance for the welfare of Terri. He doesn't have anything in writing to prove she would prefer to die and hasn't shown a commitment to her that would prevent the questioning of his motives. There should be many cases for a lawyer to make comparisons too in order to fight her husband for legal custody. There are examples of grandparents whose child has died and the spouse has cut of visitation rights only to be restore by the courts stating the grandparents have rights to the grandchildren an so the parents should have rights to the child as well.

Say what? No, but those two acts trouble me a great deal. I voted for Bush, like him and respect him tremendously, but think him just plain WRONG on a number of very important issues.

Savage beats him up all the time, but even HE recognizes the heroism in President Bush's stand on this.

Common sense has fled so many of our people, even our judges. When there is the least shred of evidence, doubt or disagreement in such a situation as this, particularly amongst direct family members who are willing to lovingly care for her...you ERE ON THE SIDE OF LIFE!

I agree: One must err on the side of life in these circumstances.

And beyond that, starvation and dehydration are cruel means indeed to execute someone. Even if I were to grant that this innocent lady has truly received due process leading to her execution -- which I do not -- then still the execution itself by means of starvation is cruel beyond all bounds. Not even mass murderers like Jeffrey Dahmer and Ted Bundy would be executed by these vile means; not even animals would be tortured in such a manner; but somehow it does not trouble either judge in this case to permit this means of execution.

What Bush bashing? Read my other post, I LOVE Bush, so darned proud of him actually in this it brings a lump to my throat, and it makes me really sad that a single damned ex-probate judge can simply ignore him and the entire weight of congress and get away with it. They have no respect. They need to be taught some. That's why I made the remarks about the Bush's being the judiciary's byotch. Because that's the way it seems to be going. I don't like it, but what can we do? We are ALL belong to the black-robed mullahs. Someone set up us the bomb.

If Teri was in a persistent vegatitative state or brain dead as the MSM repeats over and over, even though they know better, she would just lie there like a pet rock. She is awake, aware, alert and participating in what goes on around her.

"This has nothing to do with facts"??? facts according to whom? Those who see defence of any human life except the lives of convicted murderers as a threat to their beloved US Supreme Court invented right to murder babies?

It would be laughable, were it not so tragic and distorted: The pro-abortionists fear that treating any life as sacred, might open up for discussion, the possibility that babies just might be people too.

I do not believe it is a fact that she is either PVS or that she indicated she wanted this. There is huge room for doubt in both instances IMHO, and so we must err on the side of life.

However, if they were "facts", ...you have my answers. Disregard my alst BTW.

You could tell by the new slant last night that while pretending to rally to her cause, the authorities have deteremined that she should pass on.

Well, I think that is proably best for her, and certainly best of the rest of us who have bee so "upset" by this case.

Get your facts straight. There was more than one doctor in one article. So... does that destroy your argument that destroyed mine?

I'm tired of your distortions. Prove what you just said. Searching on www.quackwatch.org for "Hammesfahr" provides ONE article called Ultrasound Monitoring of Stroke Patients by Steven Novella, M.D. The only other item returned from the search is a list of doctors that they are branding quacks, with a link to the aforementioned article. Can you provide me with a direct link to any other articles which "prove" he is a quack? Gee, I thought you said there was a whole bunch of stuff on the Quackwatch website proving Hammesfahr was a quack.

It's been fun, thanks for playing.

I guess the words 'regain his Presidential manhood' (following other negative posts by you about him) were what indicated your lack of respect for him.

If I'm 'so darned proud' of someone that it 'brings a lump to my throat,' I don't usually accuse him of impotence.

We're on the same side of the issue here, but implying that Bush is at fault is intolerable for me.

Sorry if I inferred what you didn't mean to imply....

"Any suggestions?"

Nope, I've never organized an insurrection before either.

Agreed. We need to continue Praying to God that eyes and hearts will be opened before it's too late. It looks like we're doomed to repeat history and I find that option totally disgusting!

Yes, because isn't it every King's President's right to interfere in the lives of his citizens and block their preferences?

...unless they're homosexual, then it's OK?

This is why hard core conservatives are slowly losing your credibility. You attack Democrats for the same thing--and many times rightfully so--and then one of you goes and says something like this without thinking....

Do you see how this was just too easy?

You right-wingers think that because you have both houses of Congress and the Executive branch (and are working on the Judiciary) that you can be blatant about your hypocrisy...at least try to disguise it, otherwise you'll start losing seats again in '06. Don't piss away your power by whining like Democrats when things don't go your way, especially when you have the majority.

Unbelievable
