At the Inauguration, there were some college-aged kids with signs that said "Bush is the worst president ever." I wanted to have a sign that said "If you think Bush is the worst President ever, you've obviously never studied history." But that would have been far too cerebral for them, because of course they've not really studied history!

I was watching the live coverage last night regarding the Schaivo vote. Out in front of the hospice facility in FL, one very artistic person made a sign calling the state judge who ordered the removal of the feeding tube as a "swamp judge." This was unremarkable, however, on the other side was a deftly drawn image of an alligator wielding a gavel. I had to laugh.

Well, then you haven't encountered the Confederate apologists that hang out here. According to (some of) them, Lincoln was an evil man very much along the lines of Lenin or Hitler. He alone was responsible for all the death and destruction of the WBTS. That such a belief is remarkably free of any basis in logic or facts does not keep them from holding it with great tenacity.
