Official After-Action Thread: March 19 Fayetteville, NC Support Our Troops Rally
Freepers, lurkers and assorted patriots ^ | March 19, 2005 | Constitution Day

Posted on 03/19/2005 5:03:49 PM PST by Constitution Day

Today we met in Fayetteville, NC to Freep a motley rabble of socialists, anarchists, Code Pink-os, and other throwbacks to the 60's! As usual, we were well outnumbered by their hordes of college students, aging hippies and other bused-in protestors, but we held our own as always.

Please post any reports and observations on this thread only.

More proof that the police were comfortable having FReepers protecting their backs...

Motorcycles can be rather loud, even louder than the amplified voice of a peace-loving spokesperson for the united oppressed proleteriat. Last year when distracted by such compelling and peace-loving speakers for the united oppressed proleteriat, some of the RT's accidently forgot to keep their bikes on "tip-toe" setting. Sadly, some of the peace-loving speakers for the united oppressed proleteriat were accidently drowned out.

The lefties are getting desperate...maybe they'll go back to rave parties and PlayStation instead of becoming more militant. This article really cries the blues about the lack of participation on their side Saturday.

The numbers may be forever in dispute, but reports from the MSM are anything but encouraging...The New York Times pointed out, anti-war actions were "nowhere as big as those in February 2003."

This guy is a self proclaimed lefty (my comment) - Michael Hardt, an English professor at Duke University,..."When movements grow is when they propose the agenda for change," he declares....The anti-war movement has become a failure because it has conceded the terrain of issues to the pro-war people."

They were whining about waiting to be searched, and the article says they were chanting abusive slogans at the police while they waited. But dig this next comment - But after a few minutes passed, almost nobody complained about the security screening, because on the north side of the scene, along the rim of the park, stood a hundred counter-demonstrators: "Fry Mumia," their T-shirts harrumphed, "Caution: Red Diaper Doper Babies in the Park," a big pasteboard sign proclaimed.

Umm, hello America haters...wake up, please. The FPD didn't search us and kept their backs to us. Then again, we SUPPORT them and don't shout abusive slogans at them. Get it now?

To read the full story please copy the url and go to Google or somewhere before pasting it into your browser, this is a hardcore lefty website.

That was a very scary photo, Huber. I'm just starting on my coffee. And, I don't really look like that, you know...

This NBC crew, interviewer and photog, were pleasant.

God Bless your pal - please give him a big hug from me and mine..........and a HUGE Thank You for his service.

Consider it done.

I've been called a child abuser for "indoctrinating" my child and "using" her in my political activities.............and I have to laugh at that. Isn't it the left that is always squawking about it "being for the children"???

You are absolutely right, and IMHO, right for bringing your children to what is their destiny too, one day. The left is "for the children". That phrase always got me as in "going FOR your children". It just seemed that way to me: abortion, indoctrination in the schools, and now.. GI caskets. Seems they don't mind using our children at all for whatever they want to do.

rrrod was the perfect gentleman, but was also very clear that he did not respect NPR and that he did not perceive any value in being interviewed by NPR.

JJ, glad you got your FR account in order! If we end up in Fayetteville again next year I hope it's for a different reason. Let's hope this time next year the anti-war protesters will have to invent a new reason to b-itch.

See the Gentleman in photo 7 (left to right), in front with the flag is named Kurt. I don't think he's a freeper. Very nice man, a Veteran. Anyhow, while I was pulling my gear together I was nearby -- a male twerp, older than me, came up to him and began asking him questions about when he served. I heard the click in my head as the twerp learned Kurt had served in the Gulf War; the twerp began the harangue: "That wasn't combat; you really didn't do much; Gulf War was like Panama.."

My head shot up, and I saw pure white, and I went after him.

The twerp came over simply to heckle and harass this wonderful vet. I don't recall what all I said; but the louder he got the more I got in his face.

I just remember telling him to get on over to his side of the street since he couldn't play nice; He instantly turned on me and began calling me foul names while I chased him off our turf; I remember him calling me a F*** C** B***" -- and my saying . "that's the best you've got?? -- that's it? That's your ammo, your stand????"

He'd turn call me more names, turn and make for the street with me in hot pursuit while still on his case, he'd stop and call me names while I took his footspace away even more, and he'd retreat again. Maybe it was my cowboy boots... Anyway, I looked up just in time to see a very angry officer pulling this twerp into the street.

This twerp had not come over to "dialogue". He'd not come over to have a civil conversation or even civil disagreement with Kurt. He came to count coup with a definite goal in mind: to belittle a fellow citizen, AND a vet's service to our country. That just wouldn't do or be allowed to happen, in my books...

Anyway, Upchuck came up asking me if I'd like a chill-pill. Beleg thought it was funny - that I was a mamabear ready to maul this twerp and from where he was seeing it happen, Beleg said it looked like the police were removing the twerp for his own protection.

I never cussed or threatened him. I just knew I wanted him "away" from Kurt.

It just didn't upset me; I wanted the twerp "away". That's all I knew. And once he was "away"; I was ready to play again. Case over.
