Just heard on Fox that U.S. Senate will convene today in emergency session regarding Terri Schiavo.
I just can't believe most people here don't realize that this is not just about Terri.
Florida law
90.802 Hearsay rule.--Except as provided by statute, hearsay evidence is inadmissible. 765.401 The proxy.-- (1) If an incapacitated or developmentally disabled patient has not executed an advance directive, or designated a surrogate to execute an advance directive, or the designated or alternate surrogate is no longer available to make health care decisions, health care decisions may be made for the patient by any of the following individuals, in the following order of priority, if no individual in a prior class is reasonably available, willing, or competent to act: (3) Before exercising the incapacitated patient's rights to select or decline health care, the proxy must comply with the provisions of ss. 765.205 and 765.305, except that a proxy's decision to withhold or withdraw life-prolonging procedures must be supported by clear and convincing evidence that the decision would have been the one the patient would have chosen had the patient been competent or, if there is no indication of what the patient would have chosen, that the decision is in the patient's best interest.
Yes, it is.
Yes I will. As would anyone here.
You are deluded.
Heh heh heh, that was revealing. The 'they' in his statement refered to "Terri's would-be murders," and you replied.
If someone starves their dogs will you find the same sympathy with you as Schiavo and Greer get for starving Terri ?
Uh, I think you're confusing opinions with facts. Court summaries are opinions. Evidence presented to the court are facts. Michael's testimony that he wanted to become a nurse in order to keep his promise to her that he would care for her the rest of his life, conflicts with his later testimony. How can you consider his earlier testimony to be clear and convincing, and still consider his later testimony to be clear and convincing? They are clearly conflicting.
Assertions are just that, assertions. Show me.
Do you have the right to kill your wife ?
Do you have the right to kill your dogs ?
Yes I will. As would anyone here.
No
Some of us are human beings.
You are deluded.
About $480,000 of Terri's medical trust was spent trying to kill her.
!
Another way of saying it would be that $480,000 was spent trying to fulfull her wishes.
Who says the spirit of the Nazis has perished from the earth ?
All you (generic you, not personal you) supporters of murdering Terri Schiavo, can we starve cats and dogs now too ?
Not an accurate way. Another way to say it was that $480k was spent on a mission to mars, but that wouldn't be any more true than what you said.
By the way, SHE'S NOT BRAIN DEAD.
Starve cats and dogs? Oh, heavens no! That's inhumane!
Yeah, sure
Like work will set you free ...
Do you have the right to kill your dogs ?
I can cap my dogs any time I please. I own them.
As for my wife, she would get me first. I would not have a chance.
Now go play in the sand box with the other critters.
Good one. Perhaps history's most infamous euphemism.
I figure if any of them are human beings, they will have a conscience that is not seared with a hot iron and will realize that.
