Ann Lewis: Hillary Will Keep US 'Safe'
When she runs for president, New York Sen. Hillary Clinton will do a better job than John Kerry did of convincing Americans that she'll keep the nation safe from terrorist attacks and other national security threats, Clinton's top political strategist said Friday.
"The first and crucial step for the Democrats to regain the public trust and confidence is to make clear that people can have confidence in us that we will keep them safe," HillPAC communications director Ann Lewis told the Jewish Forward. Clinton "has a coherent approach to national security that can serve as a model," Lewis boasted, without explaining how the former first lady intended to handle questions about her husband's failure to take terrorism seriously when she was his chief advisor.
Instead, insisted Lewis, Sen. Clinton has "established herself as an unquestioned supporter of Israel and bolstered her security credential[s]" by serving on the Senate Armed Services Committee.
The senior Clintonista also blasted Sen. John Kerry, who continues to hint that he'll make a 2008 White House bid, for what Lewis said was "basically an inconsistent [2004] campaign ... [with] a different message frame every two or three weeks."
Noting that team Kerry "kept trying to rationally convince, to put a presidency together, line by line, plan by plan," Lewis said that people "don't vote for plans, they vote for presidents."
Well, well ... the rats do have a sense of humor. Albeit cockeyed.

Ahhhh....we have been awaiting these brilliant words from Barney Frank's sister.
She sure will.
She will "protect" us just like she and her co President "protected" the children at Mt. Carmel.
