DALLAS -- One man was arrested and a warrant was issued for another in a shooting at a highway intersection that killed three men and critically wounded a fourth, police said Thursday.
Jimmy Aristides Velasquez, 20, was arrested late Wednesday in Irving, said police in the Dallas suburb of University Park. He is accused of driving the white Jaguar from which the fatal shots were fired.
Police Capt. Leon Holman said an arrest warrant was issued for Israel Barretero, 21, of Dallas, who's accused of shooting from the car's sunroof.
Police said each man faces two counts of capital murder and one count of aggravated assault.
Killed in the predawn shooting Tuesday were 36-year-old Eddie Pech, 21-year-old Bernardo Andrade and 19-year-old Favio Andrade.
Osvaldo Juarez is in Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas in stable condition, Holman said.
Police said they believe a fight at a popular college bar led to the shooting. The shootings happened along a Dallas highway Tuesday morning, police said.
Officers are still searching for a second suspect.

Anyway, more details:
The Jaguar in question was a white S-Type (1999-up) and was not stolen. Apparently the owner was beaten senseless by the people in the other car at Jack's Pub. His friends took him to the hospital for treatment in the Jaguar, then returned and waited for the other party to get in their car and leave. The rest is as was reported earlier; the gun used has not been positively identified or found. The man arrested is thought to be the driver, not the shooter. At this time it does not appear to be gang-related.
Thanks for the rest of the story!
I should also clarify - the owner of the Jaguar does not appear to have been directly related to the shooting; he was in the hospital at the time the shooting occurred. He supposedly did not have anything to do with the shooting, having been semi- or unconscious through the trip to the hospital (according to some reports). He has not been charged and will probably be getting his Jaguar back (it's currently at the Dallas impound yard, in the "evidence section" if you are familiar with it). Getting his blood out of the leather is going to be hard.
It also does not appear to be drug related in the least; however, it appears stupidity and pointless agression were contributing causes. :-P
What then? More wonderful cultural diversity imported from south of the border?
Possibly, but it doesn't appear to be gang-related - at least not according to reports. Jack's Pub is not a gang hangout; besides, most of the gangs around here are in Fort Worth and South Dallas.
If I had to guess, I'd say the cause was Latin machismo ("Stupidity by any other name...."). Take that any way you want.
According to dallasnews.com, all involved were latinos and some were only recently in our Country. They also had a pic of that pimped-out looking jag.
The Latino thing should have been obvious from the last names. :-P
The Jag wasn't *that* pimped out - looks like wheels and a tint job, that's all. Lots and lots of GSR and fingerprint dust all over it, though.
So, after we import enough cannibals, I assume we will have to accept cannibalism in the interest of cultural diversity.
If they only eat liberals, does it matter?
That said, I don't think anyone approves of this. The odd thing is that the police were actually called to the original fight at the pub and nobody got arrested, thanks to the policies dictated by our micromanaging mayor. The proper procedure would have been to haul everyone off to jail and sort it out later (save for the guy who needed to go to the hospital). But, hey, they didn't, and this is what we get.
Since the statement was made by the UP police, I am guessing that the shooting occurred there. Is the bar in the "Bubble" or is it in Dallas?
Dallas. It's about a block north of Mockingbird, and a block east of 75. I.E, just a little north of Upper Greenville.
Er, and since the shooting occurred on the southbound access road of 75, it was in UP jurisdiction.
I had assumed another neighborhood takeover. Probably, I am correct.
Probably not. This bar sits on the border between one of THE richest suburbs in Dallas, and an upper middle class predominantly white area.
The suburb/city the shooting occurred in is one of the top three zip codes for per capita Class III ownership in the United States. We *used* to have a crime problem.... The other two zips are in the same area.
So what's with the shooters? Sounds like gangland 201.
That's just it, we don't know. The survivor of the other car is in no shape to talk, the owner of the Jaguar isn't much better, and the driver hasn't said anything. More will come out, but at this point, there isn't enough information to say it is or isn't. The locale doesn't lend itself to the gang warfare theory real well.
We'll see what comes out; this is an ongoing story, so I'm sure we'll all find out shortly.
Agreed. See ya around.
Ping
Just heard on the radio, that the suspect is not cooperating with LE.
You can't make that determination from this story. " on the Central Expressway service road at Mockingbird." If it was north of Mockingbird, it was probably UP; If it was south of Mockingbird, it was most likely Dallas, and if it was in the intersection, you'd need a surveyor to sort it out.
