He was found not guilty, that doesn't mean he didn't do it. It means there wasn't enough evidence. He wasn't much to me before the trial and he won't be much to me now. This is the most in all his years of being alive that I have spoken about him, now I can forget him again.

Ony he and God know the truth, and that's where I'll leave it.

Jury Foreperson Thomas Nicholson: Circumstantial evidence was flimsy. They could never put the gun in Blakes hand. Unreliable witnesses. Timeline did not work out.

"...if you go to trial, you must be guilty."

I can't tell you how many times I have read that ridiculous assertion on FR.

Jury foreman on...

Says they dissected every bit of testimony...

They could not find anything more than "flimsy" circumstantial evidence and witnesses against him were not credible.

There was no way they could place the gun in his hand, the tests were negative, and in fact his shooting her didn't make sense... the time line was too disjointed.

The next juror is also talking about the time line being off...

Now third juror - "there was just no evidence to say whether he did or didn't"

Hey, MAWG, Why don't you come to California and tell me, my dad, my mom, my brothers, my cousins, and my friends how immoral we are to our faces? If you did, you know, you'd get your butt kicked -- and rightly -- from here to Staten Island. You need some serious help, pal.

It has very little to do with being a celebrity, and everything to do with being able to afford good legal representation to balance out the tremendous advantage in terms of money, resources, and manpower that are available to the state.

Bottom line per jurors:

NOT ENOUGH EVIDENCE!!!

Actor Robert Blake, weeps with his head on the table at his murder trial in Los Angeles March 16, 2005, as one his attorneys consoles him. Actor Robert Blake was found not guilty on Wednesday of first-degree murder in the May 2001 shooting death of his estranged wife of six months, Bonny Lee Bakley. Jurors, who reached their verdict on the eighth day of deliberations, also found the 71-year-old former star of the 1970s cop show Baretta not guilty of one count of soliciting someone else to kill his spouse. But the panel deadlocked on a second solicitation of murder charge in the case, and the judge declared a hung jury, effectively dismissing that charge. REUTERS/Nick Ut/Pool REUTERS

"Appeal at once."

The DA can't appeal a not guilty verdict as there's that pesky "double jeopardy" fifth amendment thing.

>>>>Just that people kind of feel sorry for Blake, who was set up and trapped by this woman in so many ways. If anyone is going to escape jail for a crime like this, it should be him.<<<<

So Blake was setup and trapped by this woman?? Really?
How did she make him ef her to get her pregnant?

Also, lets say she did "trap" him. Since when is death a reasonable sentence for being a gold digger?

Lets hope nobody you know thinks that you have manipulated them in anyway . Because apparently you would be all for them shooting your brains out, right?
Just using the same standards you are applying to the Blake case.
"Poor man was trapped"...oh brother*rolling eyes*

"I think this guy is just as guilty of killing his wife as Scott is. They both seemed to think they were "trapped" in their marriage and offing the wife was the only way out."

Hold on there little buckeroo, you mean offing the wife isn't the only way out? Then that puts quite a big crimp in my plans.

You're not implying I ought to try and reason with the hellion, are you?

Untouchable is very touchy and irrational. Posters like Untouchable and MAWG hurt this forum not becuase of their opinions, but because of their ugliness.

I can't tell you how many times I have read that ridiculous assertion on FR.

It's kinda scary, isn't it? I think it's an over-reaction to the times when guilty do go free - like OJ and others.

But not looking at each case... Mistaking being for "law and order" with having a bias toward thinking guilty is dangerous.

I hope that would be unlikely. Waste of money. The man's already in his seventies.

I've just spent a great couple of hours in my garden, pruning roses and clipping hedges. The temperature is 73 degrees. I was wearing a tank top and shorts.

A lot of these 'California Haters' are just plain envious of our weather.

Sour grapes over what? Did this case effect me personally and someone forgot to tell me?

The guy got away with murder. You and Hildy are tickled about it. That's warped. Other than that, I don't have a dog in this fight.
