If you're at all Scottish, you can't go wrong with Janet and Margaret.

Well, if you were Lawrence Welk, I'd say name them both Anna.

(Anna One, Anna Two)

"...there is nothing in the world meaner than a 15 year old girl...."

That is the absolute truth. My daughter is 19 now, she is improving, but wow, at 15 they are just spiteful creatures.

"My daughter is named the "Maggie" one."

Now if these are nice, southern twins, Magnolia (Maggie for short) and Dixie would be great names.

I'm 47, when I was little there was only me and an old lady who lived on our floor. Now you are right, there are about a bazillion. I can tell you how that happened too, after that silly book "Love Story" took off everybody started naming their girls "Jennifer", then there were so many of those folks started looking for an alternative. "Jessica" actually was the #1 name per the NY Times one year. My parents and I were amazed.

My daughter's name is "Corinne", I tell her by the time she's 30 every kid in town is going to have that name. I see it following the same path I saw my name taking.

True story, I was saving that name up for my last child, but hubby and I couldn't agree on anything for a girl. In the end I only had the one kid. I still wonder about that!

My daughter is a few months short of 16. She and her friends are spiteful, vindictive, gossippy little beasties. I hope they grow out of it.

"Anything but Hillary."

Reminds me of when all the jokes were being made about Tonya Harding. Some comedian was saying something about the name Tonya being a curse and named off "bad" Tonya's. Then he says mom's going through the book and checking out baby names and decides on "Tonya" and the baby is thinking, "God, no; ANYTHING but Tonya!"

If you like unusual names Sioned and Briallan are nice, (meaning "God is Gracious" and "Primrose" respectively, in Welsh.

Congratulations and prayers for a safe delivery of healthy babies.

I went to high school with twin sisters named Melody and Lyric. DON'T name your girls that.

I'm 47

I'm just a few months behind you! My parents fought about what to name me, and my father won. I'm glad, I'd rather be a Sandra than a Michelle... they're everywhere!

Pick an ethnic name, a mythological name, or a Bible/saint name. Trailer park/stripper names (Tiffany, Mysty, Bruschetta), truck/car names (Dakota, Alexus, Infiniti), or soap opera names (Cynnabon, Destyny, Laudanum) are all OFF LIMITS.

The name Mikayla (incl. Mykayla, M'kayla, Makaylob, or variations thereof) is the ugliest, trailer-trashiest name ever conceived. DO NOT USE IT.

Use of names such as "Sholondria", "ShaQueena", "Durrielle", "QuaShawn", "Moe'shiya", "Duracell" or "Vagisil" will result in harsh penalties.

Forbidden by law: Madison, Hillary, Jaden, Jayden, Alyssa, MacKenzie, Jordann, Kyla, Kayla, Kaylee, Rumer, Scout, Condoleeza, Leeza, or any version of an ordinary name spelled with "y", "x" or in some other stupid and inappropriate way (e.g. Siouxan, Brynda, Raychall).

Unless you are an American Indian, please do not give your child an Indian name. It's like an Eskimo mother naming her kid "Basil Cornwall Thistlewaiste". It's just stupid.

For Ea's sake, no "Lord of the Rings" names. If you must name your child after a fictional character, don't pick something otherwordly like "Aragorn" or "Bilbo", pick fictional names they can live with, like Rowena, Rose of Sharon, or James Tiberius Kirk.

Finally, as a way to get started: a list of twins.

May God bless you and your family!

I like Savannah, but it is too popular and I never liked names that got too common. (I'm still annoyed that my daughter named my grandson Tyler.) Cheyenne is also quite common, as is Dakota. Shawnee, on the other hand, is a pretty name and not at all common.

All are pretty names but I just couldn't see naming a little Greek/Irish kid growing up just outside NYC Cheyenne or Dakota.

If it had been a different but related establishment, it would have been even a worse shock.
