I'm partial to my girls so I'll give you the names of my wife and daughter - Kathleen and Clare.
If we were ever blessed with another daughter, we've considered Elizabeth and Bridget. We have a Scots-Irish surname, so Irish, Scottish and English first names seem to "fit" well.

I never mentioned the ex governor of Texas.
You just stated that the Hogg twin girls Ima and Ura was an urban legend.

At least is was only your daughter's name and not your daughter. I know a man who was at a club and low and behold the next dancer out was his daughter.

If your last name is Hogg, name them Ura and Ima. A nut in Houston did this and the poor (rich) girls never married. 17 posted on 03/16/2005 11:25:42 AM CST by HuntsvilleTxVeteran (When you compromise with evil, evil wins. AYN RAND) [ Post Reply | Private Reply | To 1 | View Replies | Report Abuse ]The Ima you referenced in your source was married. The other one died at age 5. The governor's daughter Ima (who didn't have an sister named Ura) was a rich, famous Houstonian philanthropist, and her former estate in Houston is world famous as an art museum.
A search for the father from your source, "Benjamin Joseph Hogg" and "Houston" drew zero results, and a search for "benjamin Hogg" and "Houston" drew only a half-dozen, all of them with the term "Houston" being mentioned only as an unrelated name, none as the city.

There was an Ima Hogg, she died of old age, a spenster. She was famious for her charity giving. As for Mr. Hogg, he was once Govenor of TX.

I once saw the begining of a show where a guy called a call girl and guess what? Damn. Lotta 'splainin' to do for everyone there.

No, not Tiffany! Every girl I've ever met named Tiffany was either a ditz or a delinquent!
I like Savannah, but it is too popular and I never liked names that got too common. (I'm still annoyed that my daughter named my grandson Tyler.) Cheyenne is also quite common, as is Dakota. Shawnee, on the other hand, is a pretty name and not at all common.
