Maryland Heights Police and St. Louis County Bomb Squad officers are on the scene at the Hampton Inn on Dorsett in Maryland Heights. Apparently responding to some threats by a person of interest... police have found a pick up truck in the parking lot of the motel. The bomb squad has sent in its robot... which has opened the bed of the pick up and started removing packages. Maryland Heights Police are not answering any questions right now... and say that all spokesmen for the department are at the scene. St. Louis County Police will only confirm their bomb squad was called to assist Maryland Heights in a possible explosives incident.
Thanks. I was listening to this on the radio. There is some confusion right now over whether the suspect is missing or has been taken to a hospital (psych ward, presumably, but the police aren't saying). Old Dorsett is shut down but I-270 traffic is moving unimpeded.
ping
Number 5 is ALIVE !!!!!!!!!
Somebody set them up the bomb!
DISASSEMBLE
Everybody go over to Kreiger's and have a drink and some stuffed mushrooms and watch the action.

Video: Chopper 5 Over Suspicious Truck In Maryland Heights
Maryland Heights Police Chief Tom O'Connor says 12 canisters have been found in the back of the truck, but police are still not sure there are explosives inside. O'Connor says it will take some time to open them and find out.
Police say the owner of the truck is a guest at the Hampton Inn, and a search of his room should happen soon.
O'Connor says the hotel guest might have "had a grudge against someone in Missouri," but he would not elaborate futher. O'Connor says the man is holed up somewhere in the area and is currently speaking to professionals.
Police have evacuated a Coldwell Banker real estate office and the Hampton Inn Hotel after the truck was discovered.
We'll continue to update this story as new information becomes avialable.

How close to you is this?

I'd say it's about 15 to 20 miles north. I did not run down to the fruit cellar. None of the girls is in the area either and it doesn't, furthermore, sound like anyone is in any danger.
SOrt of like the package left in the local HD parking lot....There was more damage done by the Bomb squad that blew it up...Of course the dirty diapers inside covered the area with sh........
OMG, glad I wasn't on cleanup crew.
