...visited Fidel Castro in Cuba, bashed the United States on the al-Jazeera television network and traveled to Libya to receive an award from Moammar Gaddafi. Like many Democrats, the man has a lot of trouble with enemy recognition.

I never had much faith in the quick fix of market reforms down south, and I'm afraid what advance there has been will be defeated with impatience and populist rhetoric. Yes, the free market works, but only as part of a larger system of freedom and justice.

Thanks to the folks fleeing Venezuela and Colombia, places like Weston and even Pembroke Slimes, er, Pines have seen housing prices skyrocket. Brickell and even Biscayne have seen a wave of new high-rise construction as well.

Should I tell you about the property on Collins I didn't buy in '95? Or maybe the Vienna, VA house I gave to my 2nd ex-wife... it's only quadrupled in five years, whereas that house on Collins has probably gone up tenfold.
Remember when Carl Hiassan was supposed to sponsor some North Miami Beach development... when asked about it, he said it wasn't anything a good hurricane couldn't fix.
