The woman who was held hostage in her apartment by the suspect in Atlanta's courthouse slayings came forward to give an account of her ordeal, saying he let her go after they bonded while discussing God, family, pancakes and the massive manhunt going on outside her apartment.

1) She saw him outside her apartment at 2AM...he had a mask. Only airheads would get out and make a beeline to the front door.
2) She was by herself in a vehicle, driving AND with a cell phone. She knew that he killed to get that vehicle. Was she going to crime scene #2?
Please don't use her as a good example. She was a sheep, scared into submission. Fight or Flight should have kicked in.
Seems to me that doing this kept him from running out and shooting a few more people. At least she kept him 'contained'

I hope her Christian words aren't causing the victims family an ounce of distress. But if I were one of them (victim family) I'd be seriously pissed. She seems to be purposely strengthening the killers defense.
You're right. I only have your words to go by. Your tone belies your ability to keep your wits about you.
I doubt anyone will ever forget what this man did. However this woman was brave, level-headed and apparently has a deep and abiding faith, which, as promised, sustained her.
Her story is remarkable and it takes the emphasis off the horror. It shows that this man is a human as the next person... a human caught up in some very ugly stuff. Humans do some nasty things to other humans.
Then here comes a human who is able to cut through that horror and bring a situation to an end in the best possible way. Who would have ever thought it possible early on Friday?
A bit of irony maybe, as everyone chided the decision to let a petite woman handle this huge criminal, regardless if she was armed with a weapon in a supposedly secure facility.
Then an unarmed, unprotected woman brings this vicious man to surrender using the armor of God. I find that amazing.
Not "hung up". Impressed because she was remarkable.
Maybe you're hung up on having to look for the negative?

I wonder about the "no longer in danger" part. I think I myself would be very careful about what I said in circumstances like hers. After all, she's now a major public figure, and this fellow will no doubt hear of everything she says. Sure, he's in jail now, but who's to say he couldn't get out or that he couldn't hire someone else to, well, pay her a little visit?
I guess it's in the eye of the beholder. Every picture/video I've seen of her, she just looked very tired and under a great deal of strain.
I agree with you. I just turned on the tv and saw her a little while ago, and I wanted to hurl. She's been through an ordeal, so I don't blame her or anything, but I won't pretend her misplaced feelings for the killer weren't sickening.
