Why is it that we uneducated louts of the internet know the difference between a tabloid and a broadsheet, yet the literati of the MSM can't be bothered to learn the distinction between a blog and a forum?
Offhand, I'd say the inability to make the distinction is telling...
Oh for pity's sake. :-(
mark to read at home
Ahhhhhhhhhh...but I, OTOH,do NOT pardon most. LOL
You heard it here first, I am really an 80 year triple murderer loggin on from prison.
The part that cracks me up is that people hear that this is a "blog", so they sign up and start posting vanities in an attempt to jump onto the blogging bandwagon.
Then they start wondering why everyone flames them and posts pictures of cats in viking helmets and lightning bolts... it never fails to provide a good laugh or two.
Am I the only one who found the use of this word peculiar in this context? Is there even a definition of the word "exercised" which extends it to be used as an adjective?
While we're confessing, I'm not from Florida. (Then again, I never claimed to be.)
Like me.
I'm actually a 9 year old girl from Topeka, Kansas.
I'm very mannerly and I curtsy, and I don't have the hairy, nasty body of a man or thick, fumbling sausage-like fingers that routinely break the handles off of coffee cups at all. No no. I'm actually a sweet little girl in a paisley dress who says "Please" and "Thank You" and who's mother just ADORES me.
Sounds to me like their fat mouths were being exercised.
LOL
The Dinosaur Media just can't accept that their monoply (read: stranglehold) as gatekeepers of information is slipping away. Since they have perfected the hard mentatlity that no fact seems able to penetrate, they simply cannot fathom the notion that there are others outside "the club" who not only can, but WILL, challenge their versions of the day's events. The "great unwashed" are beginning to light torches and gather pitchforks, and suddenly the castle walls don't seem so impregnable.
Those who blog best will survive the shakeout, the rest will fade away. But all will serve the purpose of stirring things up, and transforming the stale glop that the Dinosaur Media feeds us.
Blog on!
Criminy. I think Jim Robinson is going to have to change the name to "FreeRepublic: not a blog". =^/
From what I've seen lately in the LSM ninety percent of the people with journalism degrees can't do any of the above. Most of the time I see better reporting from the folks on this forum than I do from our 'esteemed' press.
Well, I have to admit I can be that way, too, sometimes-but usually only when I first wake up.
BTW, I'm really a nine-year-old child prodigy named Olaf from Sweden.
We are much more than virtual public restroom tile grout.
Another left wing loon who doesn't know the meaning of fascist.
Thomas Paine lives.
One thing about this forum: If you post something, you damn well better have your facts and arguments straight.
Post something on here that isn't on the up and up and your ass will be handed to you by at least three posters who are experts in the field, regardless of which field it is. And also by at least a dozen people who can "Google" the Hell out of something and find in-depth expert analysis, discussion and books on the subject both pro and con.
An in addition, your grammar, punctuation, syntax, will be scrutinized until every dangling participle is exposed for the world to see.
Oh. And at least 10 posters will tell you that it has already been posted.....three times...and give links to the other threads.
We're self-policing.
