Rice pointedly declined to rule out running for president in 2008 on Friday during an hour-long interview with reporters at WASHINGTON TIMES, top sources tell DRUDGE. Rice gave her most detailed explanation of a 'mildly pro-choice' stance on abortion, she would not want the government 'forcing its views' on abortion... She explained that she is libertarian on the issue, adding: 'I have been concerned about a government role'... Developing late Friday for Saturday cycles... MORE...
Well she should start saying she is "federal" on this issue and not libertarian because libertarianism has nothing to do with state's rights.
... but it would be great theater here if she ran.
Thank you.
This isn't the first thread I've seen the same exact thing happen on.
Bingo on all squares!
Lots of innocent Iraqis have been killed as collateral deaths in military actions in Iraq. It's sad, but it cannot be avoided, just minimized, in the pursuit of our goals in Iraq. Does that mean you don't support Bush?
The previous was the other part of my post. If Condoleeza Rice's views on abortion are the same as Hillary Clinton's (and we don't know for sure at this point that they are), wouldn't it be better to have a President that we know will at least make sure that the children that have already been born are safe?
"Logic" isn't your problem, Sparky.
"Sanity" is.
The single-issue bots are aplenty here at FR... you'll see them in full force when the time comes, telling us "evil Republicans" that we shouldn't vote for Condi for whatever reason...
...meanwhile, Hillary® rides triumphally to the White House.
Now, more than ever, it's vital to stop Hillary®, rather than senselessly nitpicking at the individual GOP candidates' ideological standings.
Asking us if we really know what it means in the twisted context of a Libertarian semantic mind-***k does not convince any of us that we should support or vote for anyone who is pro-choice under any conditions.
That's your opinion.
well said
"Are you people NUTS???? Let's eat our young! Let's let Hillary's Fat A$$ just waltz into the White House because you're to upset with Condi."
Thats why we are known as the Stupid Party. What effect has Bush's position on abortion had? None. Zero. Zilch. But lets toss one of our most viable rising stars overboard because of hers. Idiots.
I will never vote for a pro-abortion candidate. Abortion is murder, and I will not give anything - one vote, one dollar - to a person who would protect its legality. I can overlook a lot in candidates, but protecting the slaughter of the unborn is not one of them.
Agreed
Do you mind if I have an abortion?
I am to the bone a Republican but I'm also pro-choice...i'm sure I don't fit in here with that comment butI've been pro-choice all my life. would I ever have an abortion? Doubtful! do I respect the rights of others (other then late-term abortion - in my opinion murder), absolutely. I'm sure I'm going to get castigated here but hey, that's the way I feel...would I vote for Condi? In a NY second!
LOL!
Waaaaaah!
Have you read further down the thread after your post?
boy howdy
that is a lefty canard counter....I'm surprised.
there is equivocating between the unborn slaughter for convenience and collateral damage in wartime.
Maybe a poll could be run here on the F.R. to find out how many would vote for a "mildly" or other level of pro-choice Republican if the alternative happened to be Hillary, plus Hollywood back in the White House and all the rest that automatically goes along with the Clintons!
Oc course it would not reflect national Republicans and conservatives, Libertarians, etc, in general, but it might be interesting.
