This is a breaking news situation.
A man entered a courtroom in the Fulton County Courthouse this morning and shot a Fulton County Sheriff's deputy, a clerk and a judge; there are reports from both WSB and WAGA, the judge is deceased.
The perp has carjacked multiple vehicles -- now on his third -- and is still at large.
I've just come from downtown Atlanta, and the city is a madhouse.

If this had happened yesterday, during the MJ fiasco, it wouldn't be getting any airtime..

Well he does know how to use a gun , thats evident and the balls to use it. I am not complimenting the guy BTW, just stating facts. IMHO this guy will not be brought in alive, nor should he be.

That is a good question; if you get a hung jury and they retry, if this kind of stuff is inside you, why take the risk? This is probably why he wasn't considered a threat. I wonder if the "shank" that was found on the guy earlier was just a common item that could considered a weapon - sort of like at the airport with fingernail clippers.
I don't see why a guy out on bond would bother to carry a shank into the courtroom - what would he hope to gain? Of course, it doesn't make sense that he would shoot people in the courtroom today either since he could have just disappeared into the night and would have been a low priority manhunt.

Dear lord, a guy on Fox News just asked Judge Napolitano "If this guy is captured, will he still have the same jury?"

No-no, reporter's can seems appropriate.

No real inside skinny, but the job is one with most days being routine and boring and then some days are like today. It takes the right attitude to handle these situations, but yes, I would say that the courtroom is considered an easy gig with little action or chance of action.
With afirmative action, I would imagine that a female is paired with a male bailaf, this was apparently not the case this time.

How is this guy still at large, though? I haven't heard anything in the last hour or so about a capture. Oh they'll get him. There are a whole lot more eyes looking now. I just hope no more people pay with their lives for crossing his path.

Well, that's how they are reporting it -- "caught trying to take a weapon into the coutroom this week."

You asked about the suspect's background. I heard and local station interview a juror - he stated that he had a background in criminal justice! Possibly this is how he knew how to quickly secure that gun - they also stated the deputy's guns were usually in some kind of contraption that required 2 stages to disengage from holster.....
