I would take great delight in unseating each and every one of their sorry asses.
Blogs Bristle at FEC's Internet Political Speech Proposal (this affects you) --
"You can be assured that none of us in the blogosphere will fail to recognize those who do not act to defend our rights to free and unfettered political speech, and regardless of political party, none of us will rest until those voices of repression are stripped of office by the voters they hold in such low regard.
Ted Rall's Anti-Blog Column Draws Blog Reaction -- It's a shame the "mainstream" media is just a few liberal-minded objects of propoganda who think that the millions of bloggers (like us) don't represent the majority in America. It's funny how there are many more conservative bloggers than liberal.
First Amendment infringements on bloggers
here.
Exactly. Jonathan Turley, an HONEST liberal, who is a Constitutional scholar, said the same thing on Fox News tonight.
Is there any wonder why there is this divergence in the development of conservative and liberal blogs? Very truly, the liberal blogs only aspire to ape the mainstream media -- while the conservative blogs are blazing the trail beyond, where mainstream media cannot even imagine being.

CFR was bad enough:
Then, the Supremes went bad on us:
We need to take our country back, folks. Get cracking.

The Blogosphere is under assault and being asked to defend itself. Right now we don't have a unified voice to establish (codify) and defend the rights of our citizens to use the internet. These assaults amount to efforts to make internet based publications second class citizens, unworthy of the protections enjoyed by the MSM. And to make internet based speech second class speech, unworthy of first amendment protections.
Unfortunately, right now we are feeling our oats, but senators, representatives and the MSM have no love of the blogs and want them silenced.
So what can we do? Just the same anyone else has had to do to defend their rights. We have to establish them in the public mind and defend them jealously via some unified group that we can pool resources to effect the outcomes of case law being developed right now.
The FSF foundation comes close, but many here have some basic disagreements with this organization. They are in place though and generally are pointing in the right direction. Otherwise we need to develop and fund our own organization to accomplish these goals.
We have only a few more months before the Free Republic site is in this very set of cross hairs.
McCain Feingold must be repealed as well. It was an abject failure and it is the problem, more legislation to permit the government to "regulate" political speech is an assault to every citizens rights. The only law in this respect should be one that insists on accurate reporting of financial contributions and by whom they are made.
Money cannot be taken out of the system, but we also saw in the most recent election cycle, that the availability of the blogs and free communications can offset huge attempts to "buy" an election. Strangely, McCain Feingold has actually become a vehicle to attempt to turn back the clock so you could buy influence through the MSM and by providing small "in a relative sense" amounts of money to politicians. The blogosphere counters the influence of this money by allowing regular citizens to find and share the truth around the MSM and the campaign staff's crafted messages. As such, we are defending our very own freedom and liberty at this point. To lose this battle is to lose ours forever even as we attempt to free so many around the world.

Hillary said, years ago, that the Internet needed a gatekeeper. [For her future benefit, of course.]
Now, who was she sitting beside in her recent interview from Iraq?
Who wrote this CFR anyway?
[Wanna play connect-the-dots?]
[[More and more I am beginning to think Michael Savage might be right--that the fix is already in and 'she' is in line for the next opening in the White House oval office; that the two-party system exists in name only and there are really no real political differences between the two parties.]]

Just in case anybody here doesn't see the parallel, this is just like gun control (I'm sure there are probably no more than three supporters of gun control on FR, but hey, I'm trying to make a point here). Anything that threatens the politicians and their positions of royalty must be done away with. It's clearly bad.

This article is saying the same A$$holes who can't prevent 3 Million Illegals per year from entering and don't have the resources to properly police our Borders are going to somehow have what it takes to police the Internet?Love it! Love it! Love it!
McCain-Feingold campaign finance reform boondoggle is a text book of how poorly thought out reforms hurt America and hurt the Constitution McCain and pal Feingold are helping anti-Americans like George Soros who can and do a lot of damage to our systems. Bloggers arent the enemy but these radical MEChA and Reconquista groups are McCain too cowardly to take these people on? Theyre threatening out Border Patrol and our citizens everyday John

As I posted yesterday on here, after doing some homework, more to do today, this is an important issue here:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."
Now since the FEC is a Government agency, Congress cannot allow it to take away our free speech, no more than they can take away our guns...so we need to get our Senators off their butts in Washington, and get this thing struck down....you with me????

Thanks- I found an FSF, but didn't see anything relevant to this issue-- the EFF is an outfit I am familiar with, however.
Clarification is appreciated.

Is that what we are at FR? A lot of activism is launched from here.

Its tempting to see ourselves as the alpha and the omega but there is a bigger world out there. The problem is that internet speech is not seen as equal to print, broadcast or spoken expressions. We know this isn't the case, but this is a land of laws.. and therefor part of this is law. But more so, part of it is interpretation. Its in this interpretation that we lack adequate and unified representation. I am talking about a voice in the courts and facing these challenges as they arise.
