Do you think the U.S. weak Dollar is an attempt to undermine EU's economy?
I think it is and GWB knows that our economy can absorb a serious decline in the Dollar, only to regain it all back once the 10% unemployment rate and the high inflation in Europe has De fanged them as a future Super Power.
All our opponents are belong to us?

Andrew Coughlan makes a thorough analysis of the"Constitution" and for those who are interested in what's happening in Europe it is well worth reading the whole article, although somewhat long.
Note that the text has been slightly changed since the version he reviewed.
The all important conclusion remains:
The new EU, founded on its own State Constitution, in fact becomes a new European State in the world community of States. A young State and a new one, a weak State perhaps, but a State nonetheless, with virtually all the essential features of a State, in which the existing Member States are reduced to the constitutional status of regions or provinces. Simultaneously the EU Constitution becomes the fundamental source of legal authority within Europe, supplanting the Constitutions of the Member States as the ultimate source of legal power.
How any politician or political scientist can state that this is no major change is beyond the pale of the comprehensible.
However, Mr Blair, Senor Zapatero, Mr Goran Persson and others are saying just that. On the other hand they are also telling us that it would be a major catastrophe if the "treaty" isn't passed.
It is time for us to throw both the Constitution and those politicians on the scrap heap!

Is there a way under the EU Constitution for a member state to secede?

Yes.
But it requires that 2/3 of the other countries agree, and a majority (maybe a 2/3 - don't remember) in the European parliament.
As you can see, there will be plenty of scope for real conflicts if one of the net contributors to the EU budget wishes to secede

question: Will all the EU states grant prostitution and drug use as legal as they do in the Netherlands?
Will there be a crack down on supposed "extremist" right wing groups in the UK and Spain like they do in Germansy?
Will frances "anti-bigotry" laws be the law of the land for other states or just in France?
To: stuck_in_new_orleans
Peronally I think it is a yes to all your questions.
About Netherlands's legal prostitution and drug use their is an "interesting" angel,
Each nation's contribution to the common EU budget is dependent on among other tings the national GNP.
Now, Holland has suddenly figured out that they are unfairly treated because in countries like Sweden where drug use and prostitution is considered illegal these activities are not counted into the GDP.
So, at the moment there are economists in our Department of Finance who are trying to figure out the total value, and also the secondary or refined value of the illegally smuggled drugs in Sweden, and of course the value of the services provided by prostitutes must also be estimated.
No, this is not a joke, or a eurosceptical myth. It was discussed on Swedish public radio, and it was explicitly stated that this was not some kind of early April fool's joke.
But where is the media, or the politician who stands up and like the little girl in HC Andersen's tale says what is so evident: "The emperor is naked".

So what happens if the Brits join the EU, does that mean thet writes them off as a military ally in the future? Will the UK army be allowed to venture on its own like it did with us in Iraq?
What about the EU nations on the UN security council...shouldnt all but ONE of these EU countries be kicked off? Same thing for the Olympics I would assume, one nation ='s one set of athletes

I wonder how Bush's democracy crusade is playing into this? Seems Europeans are not that interested in preserving their own democracies.

Who or what is the sovereign which is issuing the Fourth Reich charter?
The United States Constitution was proclaimed and ratified by the People of the United States. The Islamic Republic of Iran governs with authority granted by Allah, as revealed to Mohammed (pbuh). The former Soviet Union Constitution was issued by the revolutionary vanguard of the peasants and workers, manifested by the CPSU.
What is the corresponding entity or entities that issues this Constitution?
And, more importantly, by what right do they rule? All three of the above cited states can (or could) answer this question in a single word (the People; Allah; the Party).
What about the EU?

So what happens if the Brits join the EU, does that mean thet writes them off as a military ally in the future? The Fall of Britain is of enormous consequence to us, and we are doing almost nothing to stop it.
To: Jim Noble
Very good questions. I know these things are coming out of Brussels, but who are the personalities? How do they stay in the shadow, and why? Who will be in charge of this new arrangements? Will elections be held? What will the new EUs ability to tax? Will taxes be the same for all provinces? What will the receipts be used for? Will there be wealth transfers from wealthy countries to poor?
Not expecting an answer, just raising some questions off the top of my head.

"What about the EU?" The bureaucrats (or in socialist-speak--the "nomenklatura"). And make no mistake about it, the like-thinking groups in the USA have exactly the same end-goal in mind for us--a new form of government---"constitutional fascism".
To: jb6
I wonder if there is going to be another exodus of people from Europe if this gets voted in. Scary.
