Let me see it I get this straight. WalMart bought $15 billion from China and according to their financial statement bought a total of $198.747 billion.
WalMart Financials
That's only 7.55% of total goods purchased. How can they sell only Chinese goods when Chinese goods were only 7.55% of their total?
And another thing, if $15 billion is 80% of their total imports, that means total imports were only $18.75 billion. I thought all their products were imports.
Could some WalMart bashers please check my math here?

Could you guys check my math here? The numbers don't agree with what some people have told me about WalMart.
Thanks for your help.

The Social(ist) wing of the conservative movement would believe that Wal Mart was run by the church of satan if you told them.

It'll make it really easy for them to utilize the just-in-time-inventory system, as the goods will have a much shorter journey from factory to store.

I dunno, Trojan super store, if you ask me. China's Communist Party isn't ready to compete against unfettered capitalism.

"Last year, it sourced $15 billion worth of goods in low-cost China, from bicycles to fish."
China has FemiNazis? Isn't their mantra "A woman needs a man like a fish needs a bicycle?"
I shop at Wal-Mart from time to time; bought a bike there once, but found my husband in the Classifieds in the newspaper. ;)

So, does this mean that Walmart is going to water down China's economy with cheap products manufactured in sweat shops in Somalia?
To: Toddsterpatriot
WalMart stores in China? I wonder if 90% of their goods will be manufactured in the USA?

Chills! Spills! A typical Wal-Mart thread. Hysteria! Doom!

Where will Walmart find cheap goods to sell to the Chinese....the Chinese have no money.
Oops! Forgot! The Chinese have all our money. Nevermind.
