Well, I must comment in jest. Martha has lots of fans. She won't go under.

Meanwhile Klintonoid Franklin Delano Raines completely hoses Fannie Mae's books, jeoprodizes the entire US financial system and walks away with nearly a quarter billion dollars in compensation.

Her conviction should be overturned, anyway. Andrea Yates' conviction was overturned by a much less relevant lie on the stand. An FBI agent lied on the stand in her case.

Martha is a potential conservative, if She wants to wake up. The Lady is smart, but, confused.

Martha **PING**

There is MarthaTalks.com there is FryMartha.com and finally SaveMartha.com.

I really have mixed feelings that she is getting a rock star welcome. While her crime was more of well white collar crime, she is not a murderer, she lied to the feds but still after someone's serves it seems unseemly of her departure from prison.

I suppose if I am up at midnight I might take a gander at MSNBC Dan Abrams will be live with the coverage. But I will bet that CNN and FOX will do the same.

I actually think that Martha should be welcomed back to society, as should all people who have served their time. This may sound wierd, but I think that if society decides that XX years in prision is the correct punishment for a crime, then once a convict has served that term, it is incumbent upon society to recognize that the convict has paid the price and they should be allowed to return to society and, hopefully, become a contributing member of society. I think one of the big reasons that people become career criminals is that when they are released from prison, no one will hire them for a job, their friends and families shun them, etc. (Certainly there are some who make a life of crime no matter how people treat them, and they should be punished accordinly). If society thinks a crime deserves a tougher punishment, sentence them to such a punishment. But once a person has served the sentence society imposed on that person, the person should not be stigmatized for the rest of their life. A kid who does something wrong and gets grounded for a week doesn't get vilified and stigmatized by their parents once they've served their punishment (at least I hope not). Similarly, we should give people who have served their time a fresh start or at the very leaset the benefit of the doubt.

It's all part of the joke that our judicial process has
become. With Court TV, Judge Judy, etc. we've made the
criminal justice system into a mass-spectator circus.
A juror in a high profile case gets an interview with
Geraldo, maybe a book deal. Convicted felons appear as
prime time guests. If the crime is sensational or salacious
enough -- maybe a film! The perpetrators can be interviewed on talk shows and discuss their crimes.
Martha has improved her corporate assets and can now
author a prison cookbook. We're the fools because we've
made a farce out of the system.

Shares of the Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSO) empire, which she founded, have quadrupled in value since her sentencing in July.

Wow!! Talk about b*itch slapping the government.

I think it's sick for Martha to get a hero's welcome. CNN is going over the top with it even more than the others. They almost have a night vigil going on. I guess their ratings are so bad ANYTHING is "news". Larry King is even staying up until midnight with "reporting" on Martha. PUKE.

I bet all of these so-called reporters wouldn't be making such a big deal of a Republican FELON getting out of prison. But since the DEM party is the party of FELONS what else can they do?

FMC,

There are convicted felons, and then there are convicted felons. Martha was just a high-profile stepping stone for a man who wants to be governor, or maybe even president.

She's a hard nosed stubborn bee-yach who took on someone more hard nosed.... I'm still not convinced she did anything really, really, wrong.

But I like seeing arrogant east coast liberal democrats in prison!

Stewart's reputation has made a massive public rebound during her time in Alderson, despite the conviction for lying about a dodgy stock sale.

I'll take that with a grain of salt. I think Martha's PR machine is going all out to rebuild her reputation. Larry King and Newsweak can do all the spinning they want. Martha is STILL an Ex-Con. We'll see what kind of redemption her money has bought her in a few months

Martha didn't desrve to go to prison. It would be justice for her to come out of this mucho richer.

Her "crime" was B/S. Just a prosecutor looking for votes. I support her right to make the most of this sham and rake in big bucks.

I read all the gloss pieces in the Wall Street Journal...her PR team has been working overtime. I predict she will be called to testify before Congress on conditions in women's federal prisons, and with her neighbors Kudlow and Bartiromo giving her interviews, she will be back on top in no time.
