There's a lesser known talker that I have just begun to listen to the last few weeks, Jerry Doyle. He fits into the "deep thinker" category.

Bill Bennett should be at the top of the list. IMHO.Along with Tony Snow.

I agree about Hannity. He's Rush's parrot. No original ideas.

I like to listen to Drudge on Sunday nights....
Once a month I might listen to Savage - but his constant anger tires me

Hugh HewittAnd he has Mark Steyn on once a week. Also K Lo from National Review Online, plus other guests in addition to his own excellent observations and commentary.

They all have their appeal to a different audience. I do believe that is important. Not everyone marches to the same drummer.
I'm a Rush fan and I primarily listen to him, but not everybody likes Rush's style - while they may agree with his message.
Some of these talk people LOVE to argue - and some people enjoy that - I don't. But who am I to say that the people who like to listen to it are somewhat lesser or better. To each his own.
The basic message is the same - conservatism - and exposing the left for what it really is - a criminal enterprise.

Actually I am new to radio programs, however, in the last 5 months, they are on constantly. I must agree with you...Rush is by far the greatest in terms of providing insight on all things political. I suffered Rush withdrawal last week when he was in Afghanistan. Would that be called PTRW; Post Traumatic Rush Withdrawal?
Anyway, I basically can no longer stomach Sean on radio or TV. If I wanted to hear all the lib junk, I would watch TV. I have been unable to find Laura or Larry, however, I have listened to Michael Medved & until today, I rather liked him. While I was in the Savannah area I found Ben Bennett to be wonderful. He is only on in that area however. Neal Boortz was okay until last week, now...??

I've only heard Bill Bennett's program twice in the last year, only because I get insomnia now and again, and I happen to be killing time playing online poker with the radio on.

I've heard Hugh when he has Steyn on. Good stuff.

There's one thing I surely don't envy any of these folks about: having to say pretty much the same things over and over - pounding the message. It's necessary, I know, and part of the process of educating new listeners, but it would drive me crazy. It's like a singer who has to spend years doing the same songs over and over and over.... I'd have to crank my drinking up several notches.

Definitely enjoy Laura Ingraham the most. She's young, intelligent, and very funny. She's easy to listen to, unlike some of the others.

Mark Levin is awesome! WABC in NY 6-8 pm. Surprised he hasn't showed up on any of your lists.

Rush isn't a caller driven program, this is why he is successful. His finest shows are when it's just him, shooting down Liberalism at every turn with their own soundbytes for 3 hours.

I listen to Bill Bennett on the way to work in the mornings. No rants, no rambling just well thought out observations and interesting interviews, he interviewed Brit Hume earlier this week.
