Good Evening Fellow Freepers.
I'd like to take this opportunity to announce that your friendly grassroots Condoleezza Rice for President 527 Committee, also known as Americans For Dr. Rice, has finally set up a message board that we affectionately call TEAM CONDI. Yes, we know that President Bush was only inaugurated two months back. We also know that due to the activities of the Grand Kleagle and Babs, Miss Condi has been on the job for a shorter period of time than that.
But since Hillary Clinton is already hiring staffers for her 2008 campaign, we figured that we'd best get started, if only to make up for lost time.
To that effect, Americans for Dr. Rice was created on Condi Rice's birthday last November. I'm not going to waste Jim's bandwidth justifying Condi Rice-I've done plenty of that during the first four years of Bush. Finally, we are a very Freeper Friendly board. The webmaster has had a link to FR since he opened back in November. Our board is designed as a Condi Rice grassroots campaign news and networking tool, nothing more. It is not designed to compete with FR. To be honest, we don't have the resources or the software to compete with FR, nor would we want to. We'd like to think we're all in the same boat.
BTW, methinks the Boy President of Syria may be on the receiving end of those stiletto boots in the near future.

A few guidelines. The board is moderated because of the existence of DUmmies. We do not have enough Kitten Chow for a herd of Viking kittens, so we have to moderate posts for the times that the Bush Is Hitler and Condi is Eva Braun crowd shows up. Which they will, like the canker sores that they are. We'd love to go freestyle like FR does, but we don't have the resources quite yet.
All the best to all of you!
Be Seeing You,
Chris

Just yesterday, I was contemplating a Huckabee-Rice campaign ticket for 2008. They would make a great team.

Could be worse, the DU crowd could claim that Bush is Hitler and Rice is Eva Black.

Great idea Chris, and good post. I think Condi's all that and a bag of chips, but I need to know where she stands on certain issues before I put my energy and heart into the grassroots campaign.
We MUST have a Republican in the WH in '08. I want to make sure, or feel confident, that I put my support behind a candidate who can make it past the finish line.

I'd love to see her run in 2008
BUT
She has stated she will not run for any office.
Where do people get the idea think she is running?
To: section9
I don't think she'll run, but it can be a great bit of fun thinking about it.
You need a domestic heavy weight to be her running mate.

Yawn. Condi Rice would be a dream come true ... for Hillary Clinton. Hillary's only chance to win is if she runs against a RINO who will split the GOP. Against a conservative with no baggage, Hillary has no chance.
Sadly, Dr. Rice is such a RINO. She is pro-abortion and has never won elective office. She should do us all a favor and run for senate in California before even thinking about the White House.

How do you know she's pro-abortion? Her coyness is unsettling, and leans one to suppose that she is. But have you seen a direct, unambiguous, in-her-words statement?
I keep asking her supporters, and they can't answer.

I hear ya Chris. She's the best person for the job, that's clear. People say she isn't interested, but that's unlikely. She can't do her present job right if she shows any interest in succeeding GWB as president. It would become the story, the message, the headline, the albatross.
But when the time is right, I'm sure Pres. Bush will do what he can to support her candidacy. She is needed to carry on, to sustain the policy and achievements of his presidency.

I beleive her position is the same as President Bush. She is personally prolife but is sworn to uphold exiting law.
I think it is way to early to speculate about 08, however.

Where does she stand on abortion? Does anybody know?

I'm not sure but I think she is pro-choice. In an article I read it said she described herself as a "pro-choice evangelical." Perhaps someone has a link to that article. It was from before Bush's election, in 1999 I think.

When Cheney steps down after 2006 elections I believe that President Bush will select Condi Rice to take the VP role, then heir apparent in 2008.

I believe that President Bush will select Condi Rice to take the VP role, then heir apparent in 2008. This is a horribly bad idea. VPs are very seldom elected to the top spot.
