A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 3.2.05

President Bush had some strong words to Syria to get out of Lebanon, noted here.

He and Vice President Cheney welcomed and congratulated the World Series Cham-peens, the Boston Red Sox, who ended a drought of Biblical proportions with their first World Series win in 86 years. With Speaker Hastert and Senator Stevens, he presented the Congressional Gold Medal to Jackie Robinson's widow, Rachel Robinson, in the name of her husband.

In Arnold, Maryland, the president participated in a job training and education dialogue, linked here.

Secretary of State Condi Rice attended a one-day London meeting, info here, to discuss Iran's nuclear life, the Palestinians, etc. She put off a planned trip to Canada next month, a move seen as a rebuff over Canada's rebuff of the North American missile shield.

Senator Kerry positioned himself obscenely close to the president at Bush's remarks honoring Jackie Robinson.

Other than that crude interruption, enjoy today's visit to Sanity Island.

Thanks for the great pics. Just a request for #13:
1. Could you crop our that smudge at the Presidents rear, just under the painting? (Sorry, it just ruins a perfectly wonderful picture.)
2. Is W conducting an orchestra? :)

Oh there's so many people to thank. My agent, my publicist, my stylist ... oh [sniff] I promised myself I wouldn't cry!

LOL! I think it's the Nyquil. Or lack thereof.

Yes, and I love it when Byrd becomes a raving lunatic because then I get to remind everyone that he's the only memeber of the Senate who's also a former Klansmen. It really annoys my dad...

Not only was Byrd a Klansman--he was the freakin' Grand Poobah (or whatever they call it).

Yes! Did you hear it on Rush? Yes! I was at work, and had to try hard so as not to fall on the floor laughing when he played Ted's screeching meltdown and started repeating 'Hello?.... Hello?'. Hannity played Kennedy, too. Hannity has also been playing the creepiest Michael Jackson soundbites for the last two days. That one about 'It's not sex-uu-al.' That one cracks me up and creeps me out all at the same time.

Rush imitated Kennedy perfectly. "Hello? Hello?" HAAAHAAA!!!

I've been blessed not to hear Jacko say "sexual" yet, but I know that won't last. I hope they put him away this time.

Night, snugs. God bless you and the UK, and all those who stand strong against terrorists.

Thanks for your friendship, your cheery ways, and being a friend to America.

Some satire from scrappleface.com :

Blogosphere Lets Talk Radio Host Keep Job
by Scott Ott

(2005-03-01) -- The blogosphere, an ad hoc coalition of pajama-clad scribes who write so well they don't need editors, today announced that national talk radio host Mike Gallagher can keep his job with the Salem Radio Network after Mr. Gallagher issued an "appropriately contrite" statement about his previous ridicule of bloggers in general.

Mr. Gallagher said he was sorry for referring to all bloggers as "geeky losers in their basements cranking out crap on their computers," and said that description should only apply to "the ones who really are geeky losers."

Although the blogosphere has a track record for bringing down national media figures -- like New York Times editors, CBS producers and CNN executives -- Mr. Gallagher's mea culpa spawned sympathy and tolerance among bloggers.

"Mike Gallagher can keep his job on a probationary basis," said an unnamed spokesman for the blogosphere. "The vote was close, but the geeky losers couldn't assemble a big enough coalition to get Gallagher fired."

Good for you. Byrd is perhaps the most disgraceful member of an often disgraceful body.

I've gotta say, though, it's nothing short of hilarious to watch him give a 'speech' in the Senate. He has to have help to get a drink of water. I've seen people in nursing homes in better shape than that man, and more mentally alert too.

I know :( I've had to avoid flipping through the channels (which happens to be one of my favorite activities) and stick to HGTV and the food network.

Nursing homes? I've seen dead people who look more alive than he does.

We're cool here...........

We can FEEL the prayer support. People at church laid hands on daughter tonight. She is calm, as am I.

God is in control and HE is GOOD!

I won't be around until Friday (after the surgery). I'll post a report, but I know it will be a good one. :o)

THANKS FRIENDS!!

btw.......the President is looking GOOD today! I LOVE the tough talk to the Syrians!

Thanks, Gretchen!!
