Not only was Byrd a Klansman--he was the freakin' Grand Poobah (or whatever they call it).
Good for you. Byrd is perhaps the most disgraceful member of an often disgraceful body.
I've gotta say, though, it's nothing short of hilarious to watch him give a 'speech' in the Senate. He has to have help to get a drink of water. I've seen people in nursing homes in better shape than that man, and more mentally alert too.
