Is it Time for a Revolution? (Vanity)

With the Supreme Court once again trampling upon state's rights with their overturning of juvenile death penalties, is it time we do something drastic? And what would that be? Suggestions please. This nation is going to hell in a hand basket.

That's the ticket.

Sing to "Blowing in the Wind"

How many laws must they make from the bench,
Before the Constitution is null.
How many people will teenagers kill,
Because a straight life seems too dull.
How many Justices vote party lines,
Opinions from thin air they pull.
The answer my friend,
The Court plans our End.
The answer the Court plans our End.

The states need to assert their rights and do some civil disobedience against the renegade so called supreme court. That decision was a big pile of Constitution OFFENDING CRAP... Now let those 5 kangaroos in the black robs get down from the bench and enforce that. They will find out the limits of there powers right quick.

The moment an honest citizen picks up a phone and dials 911 in an emergency, he's effectively ceded control of his destiny to the people who respond. If we want justice, we should just render it ourselves.

If the States could pull themselves loose from the government teat, they could sue the federal government for breach of contract.

That's all the Constitution IS, is a contract.

I would argue that within my perview, the revolution is already in progress. The actions of which you speak are of the nature of counter attack.

There will always be counterattack. Killing the enemy army in the field is the only way to stop it and then super idealogues may persist as small units as in Iraq.

The U.S.A. is a conservative country recovering from decades of MSM propaganda. Those days are now over, and things are getting better. Think of the SCOTUS as a lagging indicator.

Agreed. I think getting to 60 in the Senate would help move things along.

The beauty of a lagging indicator is that if we can get a respect for the Constitution back into the Supreme Court, it could last a generation or two....

Not going to happen. We keep electing R's (huge switch since 1994 and Newt, both houses, bigger majority, two terms for Bush) and we keep getting: illegal influx of massive proportions, more socialism, more government, more spending, more taxes (if the cap goes off SS contributions as Bush suggested that will more than offset the "huge" tax break he gave the "rich" only it will, again, only apply to workers not the true divedend rich like Bush and Kerry-Heinz). Now with clear majorities we're told we have to get a 60 seat majority.. then once we get that it will be something else.

Most Republicans are pretty happy with the status-quo on things like abortion and immigration and real conservatives get less than liberals even though we are theoretically in the majority. Gay marraige? Gonna happen. You watch!

To DIMs:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
You say you want a revolution
Well you know
We all want to change the world

You tell me that it's evolution
Well you know
We all want to change the world

But when you talk about destruction (Think destroying SCOTUS)
Don't you know you can count me out

Don't you know it's gonna be

Alright
Alright
Alright

You say you got a real solution
Well you know
We'd all love to see the plan (KERRY: "I've got a Plan.")

You ask me for a contribution (Higher Taxes)
Well you know
We're all doing what we can

But if you want money for people with minds that hate (Contributions to Hillary '08)
All I can tell you is brother you have to wait

Don't you know it's gonna be

Alright
Alright
Alright

You say you'll change the constitution (2nd Amendment
Well you know
We'd all love to change your head

You tell me it's the institution (Against Traditional Marriage)
Well you know
You'd better free your mind instead

But if you go carrying pictures of Chairman Mao (Or Ward Churchill)
You ain't going to make it with anyone anyhow

Don't you know it's gonna be
Alright
Alright
Alright

oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, alright,
alright, alright, alright, alright, alright, alright,
alright, alright, alright, alright, alright...

I couldn't change the words because the song is a real classic :)

This is an outrage, but just one in a progressively more egregious series of abuses of Constitutional Authority by the Federal Courts.

I believe the solution to addressing these problems lies in properly motivating our local Congressmen and Senators to let them know we have had enough. Simply contacting these people by phone or letter is not enough. They are too complacent, too dense, too cowardly or too apathetic to care.

What we need is a massive outpouring of public wrath in the form of gigantic demonstrations in front of the Supreme Court Building and Congress calling for responsible action by our legislators to either remove these justices or and to take actions to invalidate these insane decisions. We should look to the people of Lebanon and Ukraine for an example. At least we have a right to openly demonstrate here - FOR NOW. A few thousand people for one day insn't enough. We would need millions and would have to stay there until Congress acts. Not an easy prospect.

Five Tyrants in black robes don't have the authority to use their position as an excuse to invalidate the document they are sworn to uphold by replacing original legislation with personal opinions.

If this is not done soon, we can look forward to continuing decisions which tell us the Second Amendment doesn't protect individual right to keep and bear arms, the Constitution protects abortion, and the Founding Fathers intended to isolate all references to God from public life.

We can also look forward to an activist judiciary legislating from the bench and using the examples of foreign courts and foreign laws to influence America and our culture.

If they can get away with this, they will have learned they can get away with anything - and will.

Finally, we should make it very clear to Mr. Frist that his career as a Republican politician is finished if he fails to invoke the "nuclear option" in the event the Dems unconstitutionally employ filibusters to block a vote on Bush's appointees to the Federal Courts.

The Republicans in Congress should start acting like winners instead of a herd of frightened sheep, trembling at the holling of Senators Kennedy et al.

Our Supreme Court is against the death penalty for felonious 17-year-olds, and for the death penalty for innocent unborn children. Somebody needs to explain this to me.

Unfortunately, that means we still have about twelve more to go. ;)
